Ok, I had to contact the guy at Bizarre Hobbies about the HR parts. The Chubs have to be flipped over in order for them to line up properly unless I want to go rear steer. Here they are. He said they're a direct replacement...I think not. They work perfect and as they should, but you have to flip the Chubs over to keep your axle shafts from pointing upwards or downwards instead of straight out like they should be. Scariest soldering job to date, esp after I melted my dig switch the other night. My beautiful RC4WD scale shocks from Chiklet & red boots that I got from RC4WD. Just waiting on decals to finish these up. I've got a faux winch coming too. Due to the CMS, I cant run the plate that holds a winch, so I'm going to have to improvise here. |

Here's the progress up to date. I got my Savox servo in, along with my ARB diff covers. Looking good huh? Here's a pic of the 6 pack. Another sneak peek of the body panels. I've got a few scale goodies scratched up for it. I'm in the process of gathering some more. Got these diff covers done just in time for my new ones to show up. |

Ok, so my wheels and seatbelts came in yesterday. Check these out. I gotta figure out a way to mount these hub covers. Here are the seatbelts. Hand made 5 pnt racing harnesss' Forgot all about having these scale cigarette packs Here's some close up shots of the hood. I've got some Dubro hinges and micro screws coming for the hood hinges. I'm working on some latches for it. I bench tested it with my 15/60 32p setup, and it doesnt seem like it's going to be very fast at this point. I've ordered a 55t (i think) spur. On 3S with my setup anybody got a idea as far as top speed? I'm running a smaller tire than stock. It looks to be about a 4 inch tire. |

I'll be doing the same thing with the battery. Are you able to get the battery in and out easily with the rubicon body? It's hard to tell from the pic if the battery will slide in that gap.

Well, I'm not getting as much interaction on this build as I do with my others for some reason. Oh well. Ran the wiring for my esc and such. Here are some progress pics. Here are my shocks. Finaly done. I've got some soft springs coming from RC4WD. And here is a shot of the entire rig so far. I've got a smaller pinion coming soon, so progress is gonna be even slower until it gets here. But its all calibrated, programed and ready to run. Drove it across the floor last night (very slow due to no steering yet) and that slipper was going apeshit. Not sure if its to loose or what. Either way I gotta tear it all back down in a few days. But enough talk, here she is. |

Nice build. Keep the posts coming. I am interested in how you hinge the hood. I have Rubi Wraith body too but not quite as far long in the build. |

Got most of my electronics ran yesterday. Ran my led wires, and started getting thinks locked down to finish the rig. I have a Red Bully Dog winch coming in soon too, gotta figure out how to cram that on the front end. Here are a few teaser shots. The battery tray fits perfect. I used some velcro to soften any vibrations from bashing. The battery pack clears the hood and everything just fine. The damn Shoe Goo pulled my paint in a couple spots. I'm not thrilled with how the body turned out on this one, shoulda had it painted. I've got alot of money in the panels/paint/ etc and it doesnt really show it IMO. But oh well, still looks damn good. |

Im still waiting on delivery of my kit and a bunch of parts, making it hard to look at all these awesome builds knowing mine is on a truck somewhere in transit! How did you mount the trimmed battery tray out front? I am planning to do the same. Did your rear axle go together smooth? No problems with the short side not seating all the way?

I think it looks pretty awesome. Dont let the places in the paint bother you. Once you get some drive time on it, it will get scratched/banged up anyway so you wont notice the bad places in the paint. GaBronco, the kits now all come with a thinner flange on the rear axle shafts so you shouldnt have any trouble with the short side seating all the way. |

the battery tray was easy. I cut the upper portion off, and used the long tab to mount it to the elect box under the hood. So it has a screw that goes through a hole I drill in the bottom of that box tht runs through the tray. The rest of it wont move because its a very tight fit. Im running a thin 3S pack, so I dont have to make room for a 2 inch thick battery.

My damn Castle Mamba Max Pro is bad. Damn thing let out smoke twice last night. I havent even got to drive the SOB! All I did was program it with the link and remove the red wire off the servo plug for my Castle BEC (as directed by Castle) and this SOB has smoked out twice. I took it out of the rig completely and bench tested it, still had smoke rolling. Tried 2S and 3S. I'm so mad I cant see straight, and of course they arent f#%&*ing open on Saturdays (which pisses me off even more).

AH ha!! I understand what the issue with my Knuckles is now! Was sent the knuckles with the truck when I bought it used. I ended up using a mix of the original steering arms and moving the steering rod under everything in order to fit. I'll be doing some swapping back this evening and flipping the chubs |

I love the shocks!!! Still a noob, so I gotta ask, are they the same length as the stock shocks? I will also be interested to hear how they work. Sorry to hear about your esc issues...I wouldn't even know where to start with something like that |

94smasher- the shocks are 100mm rc4wd scale shocks. From what I've read the stockers are the same. I got my decals from RPP, boots from rc4wd and the shocks from chiklet on here. They are internal spring shocks. If you order a set, go ahead and order the super soft springs too. The stock springs in these are very stiff. Dynamic- great job on the panels. I love the look. I would suggest making a roof for these. If you ever do I will definately be buying one from you. The V4 is nice, but the lines wont match up to the Rubi windshield. That is the one and only complaint I have on the Rubi kit. I highly suggest this panel kit to anybody! Tozrovr-glad I could help man. I contacted Hot Racing about the fitment issue and was told "I thought I told you that" not very good customer service IMO, so trial and error was the solution. I do want to take a second to thank a vendor, Three6 went above and beyond to help me out in contacting a vendor. Buddy, you didnt have to do that, but because you did I wanted to say again, thank you I recieved my product yesterday. The esc is a manufacturer issue. I'm turning it in for warranty claim on Monday. Thanks for the compliments guys. It was a HUGE upset to work for weeks on this thing, get everything lined up to run it, just to hook up the battery and see smoke roll out. What a kick in the nads. Either way, it'll be alright, hopefully Castle makes it right. |

I've came to a stop on this until I get the esc lined out. I've got my leds ran and wired up, everything looks great! I've got 14 total so far. emphasis on "so far" lol. I've got a rc4wd bullydog red winch coming soon, some scale drilled brake rotors and I found some alloy center caps that will bolt on instead of rigging up these Axial covers I've got. I scrapped the hinge idea for now, they're to big and wierd looking. I was going to save these pics till later, but seeing as how I'm stuck on stupid till my esc gets fixed I figure wth, so with that being said...here ya go. A little Wraith porn for ya. Props to Dynamic Concepts and Dinkys for the panels. Very nice setup. |
