I got a kit from Bill and threw in a few extras I had laying around and came up with this. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1879.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1881.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1866.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1869.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1867.jpg |

Re: Hoosiers attempt at a Scale Rubicon Wraith just the scale goodies. Waiting on Castle for the MMP. |
Great looking build. I'm partial to Jeeps boy in scale and 1:1. Great job |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith nice rig!! |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith thanks. I got some center caps, a Wild willy driver and a red rc4wd winch last night. I've got to do some modification to the center caps to get them to mount. I'm debating on wether or not to just sell all of the crap I have for the wheels and buy some VP's or not. |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith so which wheels? I'm going to buy one of these sets, but I cant decide. I am leaning a little towars the VP wheels, but I thought I'd ask for some input. A)RC4WD Twisters http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSC_6408.jpg B)Vanquish SSZ Stars http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...95_6713170.jpg C)RC4WD Torques http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSC_6372.jpg So which ones |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith The VP Star all the way. I was going to get them, but I know I will destroy them this summer..lol |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith even over the Torques? |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith Wow those Torques look awesome too.. |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith you cant go wrong with the vp's rockstars all the way. i just ordered a set oh dh's for my bug comp crawler and gonna order a st of stars for the wraith in a few weeks. |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith VP star :) |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith VP it is. Gotta sell a few goodies first. |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith While I'm waiting on Castle to get my ESC back to me I started on Willy. Or should I say Ben. (inside joke) I'm trying to scratch up some spacers so I can instal my winch with my current setup. I dont want to mount it up high, so I figured on putting it where the licht buckets are. But the issue is with the Rubi grille, it wont fit behind the bumper in its stock configuration. So I figure 4 3/8 spacers will push that bumper out just far enough to squeeze it in. Then I'll have to fab a mounting platform. But enough talk, here's Ben. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1945.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1949.jpg I still have to work out the right arm and move my shifter forward. I pulled the trigger on the Vanquish SSZ Stars w/ hubs. Cant wait to get those beauties in my hands. |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith frikken photobucket!!! |
Re: Hoosiers scale Rubi-Wraith It's been a while since I've posted on this build. Here's what I've been doing. I got Ben installed and got him painted up as well. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1955.jpg Moved on to installing some of the scale items I made. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1954.jpg Added a few stickers here n there too. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1953.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1951.jpg But the big thing is the winch. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1950.jpg I've been looking into bumpers for the Wraith but I havent seen one that I like so far. The ones that are on the market are nice, but not what I want. I couldnt fit the winch in behind the bumper with the Rubi panel kit. So I had to improvise. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/DSCF1956.jpg I bought some 1" long aluminum spacers and some longer metric bolts. Then I painted the spacers with the textured black. I then cut the "steps" off of the ends of the bumper mounts to where they are just smooth ends instead of being cupped. This is as far as I got for now. It still looks good even with the bumper pushed forward a inch. I'll get some more pics once the paint has dried. I've got some more scale items and Warn decals coming in from RPP (which BTW has got to be one of the best vendors on the web) as well as my scale rotors from some Chinese outfit, & 2.2 SSZ Stars with 225 hubs coming from VP. I cant wait to get my hands on these things. Depending on the price I may end up selling my HR knuckles to get some VP's so I can run their calipers. Not sure on that yet. |
