Default Wraith suicide steering

I finished putting my kit together and notice the factory steering arms are really flexible. So I decided to
Make my own suicide steering. I used 1/8" threaded rod and covered that with aluminum brake line. They turned out very nice, but noticed when I turn, the inside wheel turns way farther then the outside. Is that typical with this type of steering? Thinking I'm just gunna spend the money and buy vanquish parts.

Supposed to, to an extent. Called Ackerman. When turning, the inside wheel turns on a smaller radius remember.

That's incorrect with this setup. The Wraith knuckles are zero Ackerman. The problem is from the "suicide" steering which is honestly a piss poor setup. A proper drag link and tie rod is the way to go.

Haha, ah it was close just one of those times when actual logic doesn't apply. I'm amazed that they actually try and sell that steering setup to people.

Well I was going to take a pic, but I took the set up outta that thing. I put the factory set up in it for now and going to buy a vanquish set up right now. But yes this is a piss poor design. Who ever came up with this should be kicked where the sun don't shine. Sorry for even wasting your time with this question lol

The problem with the "suicide steering" is that the links are unequal length, and have to be as the servo horn is not centered on the geometric centerline. The unequal length steering arms cause completely different steering geometries from side to side.

How do you figure that the arm length has anything to do with steering angle? The servo moves a set amount to either side and the arms will move that much regardless of length.

You are not taking into account the arc of the servo arm. As it gets to the ends of its travel it does not keep an equal travel from one side to the other.

Look into the geometry, you will find out you are incorrect.
