Default painting aluminum panels

So from what I have researched... one of the best ways is to lightly sand body then .. use rubberized undercoat then spray on liner for a rugged flat black look. Has anyone done this? Bad idea? Good idea?

for paint to stick you want to sand, then clean it off with some type of cleaner. then paint it. if you want the rugged flat black look they have spray on truck liner at your local autopart store for like 8 bucks and that would work great.

Don't paint the aluminium without priming, as for the Tamiya connectors just cut them off and solder on deans .

i have tried to paint alluminum and failed terribly even cleaning and sanding didn't work for me maybe cause it was too cold,my remedy was to go to my tint shop and they also do vinyl signs ,i asked for some scrap pieces of black vinyl went home layed it on and it came out great .free mod .if it gets scratched take it off and do it again.
