Default Where's the Beef: Titan 60s !!FINALLY COMPLETE!!

I wanted something more scale and extremely durable. So I spent a couple hours at the machine shop and came up with the Titan 60 axle housings. These are not a production piece from Carter Fab & Machine. It's obviously expensive having to buy 2 aluminum housings, 2 sets of rear axles and having to have all the machine work done. This is more for the die hard scale guys. I can modify housings to any width, and provide the rear axle shafts for the centered housing. Plastic housings are easily modified to center housings and it's cheap. The Titan housings feature aluminum pumpkins and steel tubes. Also have the pumpkin shaved for more clearance, as this is common in 1:1. No more screws holding everything together. Housings can be centered, narrowed, or widened.
Shaved pumpkin

All done

Front housing, pre link mounts and haven't drilled for c hubs.

Tubes are machined from 5/8 diameter drill rod

With steel cross-members and notches in axle tubes

Rear shafts

Ready to send off.

And a centered plastic housing

Thanks
Clay

Other than being scale by getting rid of all the screw holes, weight was my goal. I wanted to run zero extra rotating mass in the wheels to free up horsepower and help keep this thing planted. The front dressed out with axial hd gears and a steel Highland Crawler locker it was 14 3/8oz. That was also before the link mounts and steering tie rod, so I'm guessing it will be right at a pound for the front housing complete. When I get them back I'll weigh them empty to see.

Those are badass!
Ever think of building a set of 9's? Removeable 3rd and all... That would be epic.

Thanks guys and now I have an even more bad ass idea if I can just get a set of Blackwell axles, or an almost as bad ass idea with a set of black widows. I have wanted ads placed but maybe one of you knows a source.

Do you have an estimated price for a set of those? they look sweet and should make the Wraith perform much better

Can not discuss pricing here. Send me a pm if serious but it ain't cheap. Cheaper if you already have the aluminum housings.

Just made a deal with the devil, 666, and will be making a set of removable 3rd member axles. Now, do I do a centered rear diff or an extreme offset rear diff like on a 1:1 comp truck?
Or what to build around them? Or just make 2 centered rear diffs for baja trucks?

Ultimate 9s coming soon. Wish I wasn't going out of town tomorrow. Can't wait to mod these bad boys and almost feel bad about it. They are gorgeous.
