Default The Destruction and Rebirth

I know you are probably thinking ah crap another Wraith build. Yep that's exactly what this is but it is the one I am doing so I hope you enjoy. This will probably be a fairly slow build since funds are a little tight right now but it should pick up pretty soon. I got this from another member and it was a little dirty but not too bad. All the parts looked great on it though and everything functioned as it should. So here is the parts list of what is going on it. I am going to go with a military theme on this, but more of a flat black stealth so it isn't just like my Wrecked Wraith is. I will probably stick with the stock interior but I may make a few changes to it. Definitely going to be a different color.

VP Knuckles and C's
VP rear lock outs
Maybe VP axle housings not sure at this point.
VP Stealth axle covers
(noticing a pattern with the VP stuff yet?)
VP steering linkage
JR 8711 servo
Mamba max
Velineon Brushless motor (got to be waterproof)
Winch of some type, I have a nice Servo winch that I have yet to use.
CMS kit
Not sure on the trans yet I may wait and see what Don @ BWD has up his sleeve with his new trans.
Traxxas Aluminum 4" big bores
Home built lighting kit
Not sure on the wheels
2.2 Swampers

Here are the Destruction pics.

Ok so there where a few changes of plans. I got the VP knuckles but not the c's I ended up with some HR ones that work just fine. I made the lower links from 3/8 delrin and traxxas rod ends. Here are pics of the progress so far. The VP rear lockouts are on the way and I am paying for the linkage monday so hopefully they will be here by friday. The 8711 was hosed but I had a 5945 that I stuck on it until I get something else.

Thanks man. I am going to try and have it to a running status by next weekend. There is a comp in Houston that I want to go to with it, but the upgrades will take me a while. One thing I am wanting to do it mod my wraith axle to be centered in the rear to give it a more scale look.

They are the 4" Traxxas Big bores. I have them internally sprung and 40 weight oil in them.

Ok here are a couple of updates. I got the rear lockouts in from VP along with the tie rod and the diff covers. I got those installed and the old panels put on. I am going to use the Jeep body that is available for the Wraith and I am going to have Jwalker do me some custom paint on it. Here are the pics.

And of course the mandatory flex shot

Ah no problem man. I love it all the same. I am comping with it tomorrow so I am going to do a shake down tonight after the grandson goes home and see how it does.

Ok well I got some more done on this. I got the Rubi body for the wraith and did the opening hood mod for it. I do not have it hinged yet since I do not have any hinges and haven't found any that where small enough for it. I made a back deck out of some lexan I had sitting in a drawer and cut it to fit around the TSC tool box. Here are the pics of it as it sits.

I bought this wraith hoping it was somewhat like the build thread well it wasn't even close it was a rusted out missing parts heap. Spur stripped aluminum all axles and drive lines looked like they were ran in deicer for a week whole rig is a disappointment tried contacting him but won't respond, and has been on sight. I have most of wraith soaking in wd40 I got ripped but chalk it up:(

That sucks a big one!!! You could think of it the way I would. The truck will be a whole lot more fun, or as something to do.

It would be more fun because since it's already beat, you could beat it more and not care as much.

Or

I personally like to rebuild and change things around all the time, here is the perfect chance.

All ways try to look towards the brighter sides of things... Best of luck to you!
