Default Pinion and Spur shaft size question

I am upgrading to a 32p 56/14 also buying a 32p 60/15 to test that out. I like the idea of going to metal. Would that be strongly recommended?

What is the pinion and spur shaft size I need to work with a Holmes 13t CrawlMaster in a Wraith?

Any recommended sites to purchase these from?

Thanks

Search?

56t spur dtxc9397

60t spur DTXC9396

You need an steel 1/8" pinion for your motor. I like associated.

Thank you.

So you don't think a steel spur is worth the money?

Spur are they they just universal for scale RC? No certain thickness required? I see it references a Key #16.

I do understand gearing quite well after being a cyclist/triathlete my whole life. I just don't understand what parts will works.

A steel spur will be louder, heavier and you won't have any issues with a plastic 32p spur. Not all spurs will bolt up but both of the part numbers that I posted will work.

I'll tell you right now your going to want s different ratio. 4:1 isn't low enough and both options you just listed give you 4:1. Pick something more in the range of 56/10-12, that way you won't smoke your new HH motor right off the bat. As for the steel spur, they are great, but chances are a plastic 1 will work just fine for your application.

I am glad you saw that and posted. You are absolutely right. I don't know what I was thinking when I posted that. Apparently I was not thinking.

Well you know how hard I looked to find a 32p 10t, 11t pinion

I found them Here but only after converting 1/8 to 3.17mm using this conversion chart.

I wonder if these manufactured in Taiwan pinions are any good?
