Im a 46 yr old guy who's last experience with RC cars was 30yrs ago with a Tamiya sand rover which put me off. I bought a Wraith for my boy the other day unfortunately he's now short of a gift as the old man loves it too much. Harley after reading your guide things can only get better. |

Dna do you try 38/13 HD in front ? I know you tell us 43/13 is the best but my rear drive shaft have the head screw broken ; ; and I'm boring to drill it... crap and I dont be 43/13 front and 38/13 rear, ther is no interest to underdrive the front right ? so 38/13 on both size HD in front stock in rear seem to be a easier solution :/ |

i know most of you guys use the stock rear wraith drive axles on your rigs but im building a monster truck build with wraith driveline. super shafty bombproof trans with full vp front and rear axles. clod tires will mangle the rear drive shafts. any thoughts on a solid upgrade?

| Re: Harley's Guide to a Bulletproof Wraith We really do need a proper HD axle shaft made for these trucks. Such as something out of a nice chromoly. Ti is not the proper material to be using for axle shafts in a truck that you aren't chasing the weight game. I think there may be a good solution soon though. |

I got tired of the stock shafts, after breaking another, so I cut it below the flange welded and 3/16 steal rod, and it did some work for fitting in locker and clearing screws.. Wasn't bad at all, and I can assure you it will not break on that part, Plus i took lil by lil off so it fit in locker TIGHT. Sick of slop. Hardest part was gettin it PERFECTLY Straight.

QUOTE=Calderwood;4812915]I agree. I think 5mm spring steel shafts would be bullet proof. Ti is light but there are plenty of materials that would make stronger shafts.[/QUOTE] I'm with you on this, why not some 5160 or 1095 material for shafts? Maybe CREEPERBOB could build some? |

Question on the pro line shocks, I have been reading people run the slash rear shocks for both front and rear, this thread listed using the slash front and rear? Whats the best setup for crawling? |

| Re: Harley's Guide to a Bulletproof Wraith The rears are longer and I usually run them on trucks that will see more rock time. The fronts are good for a more go-fast type setup.

Hey Guys, looking at diff covers and had questions. if i wanted to run the VP diff covers or the ARB on the stock RTR axles, will i have any issues? I heard with the RTR Wraith the axle gears are flipped to accommodate the fixed timing of the included brushed motor. So I would need to flip the gears. And replace the motor with something with adjustable timing.

Planning on doing Stage 1 and 2 mods plus Holmes Hobby Motor, Mamba Max ESC, Futaba Servo. Would it be wiser to go kit or RTR also have Sanwa MT-4. |
