Battery Help/Questions Like my other threads asking for assistance..... This is my first RC and my first build. That said i am just about done and need help with batteries and a charger. Here is what i am running and hoping for some battery and then charger ideas:
(I honestly know know not much about batteries other than what i have been able to research) Lastly, what charger? I have been looking at the Duratrax Onyx 245... Thank you for any help or guidance! Sean |
Re: Battery Help/Questions I'm running a 6000 mah lipo hard case up front with the CKRC battery plate. My Wraith runs for an hour on that battery. I'm using a Traxxas do everything charger. |

Re: Battery Help/Questions I use a 3000 mah 3s and get about 45min to an hour out of it. The way I do mine is I have everything up front and I mount the battery on it's side next to where the firewall will be. |

ESC is now in the back on a Custom made Lexan plate.. There is room for a larger battery, but I get over an hour from my 3300mAh, so why carry around more weight on the truck up high...? |
Re: Battery Help/Questions I run a 2S 5000mah with stock 20t motor and 18t pinion and get over an hour out of it. I'm switching to some 3000mah 3S shortly and expect a little less than half that, which I'm fine with. |

Thunder AC6 Smart LiPo Balance Charger/Discharger w/ AC Adapter for 1-6 Lipo/ 1-15 Nimh + USB to PC Software I've had good luck with the Gens Ace batteries from hobbypartz as well. |
Re: Battery Help/Questions I use the Onyx 245 charger and love it! I'm getting about 45 minutes on my 2s lipo. |
Re: Battery Help/Questions HYPERION batteries, HYPERION chargers! Hands down! You can't go wrong! Best on the planet. "thumbsup" |

Also, did you have to notch the motor plate more to get the motor to slide up to the spur better? I know with stock spur and 18t pinion I can't go any further with 48 pitch gears without making mods to the motor plate. |
Re: Battery Help/Questions A lot of people use the Thunder charger including myself Thunder AC6 Smart LiPo Balance Charger/Discharger w/ AC Adapter for 1-6 Lipo/ 1-15 Nimh + USB to PC Software I've never had any issues with it. Charges everything, balance charges, digital readout and monitoring, etc. I'm also using 4000 mAh Sky Lipos and haven't had any issues with them. |
Re: Battery Help/Questions I didnt have to notch it at all fits just fine. Here is my lipo in place with a mount made by a local guy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...h/ab046fb8.jpg |
Re: Battery Help/Questions hmm I should try this to fit a 8.4 hump pack |
Re: Battery Help/Questions I run a gens aces 40c 4400man 4s with the same esc and motor as you and 56/14 32p gearing, and its fawking awesome. |
Re: Battery Help/Questions I run a Speedpak 2s 5000Mah Lipo and get over 50 min of runtime "thumbsup" As for a charger I would get the Hitec X4, one of the best chargers out there you can charge 4 batteries at one time. This charger does everything and you can charge up to 6 Amps and balance at the same time. http://hitecrcd.com/products/new-pro...x4-eighty.html Thanks Scott |
^^x2 that's what i use, it does everything and does it well, not cheap though, and like with most you will need a power supply |
