Default MIP front axle kit, anyone interested?

I've been talking to Matt from MIP over at another forum and he asked for reviews on there products and what us crawler/scaler guys would like to see from them in the future. I spoke up and said Wraith CV axles and others chimed in and said the same, you'll sell them as fast as you can make them if there of the same quality as your other products.
Here's his responce,

"I just talked to the engineer and we actually have the solid work models and measurement to make both the ax10 and wraith axles. The thing is the original design on both cars limits us to beefing up the drive train so we actually came up with an entire front end . The hubs would be billet, steering arms, everything dealing with the outside of the axle would be MIP . But after much discussion we decided to scrap the project .... The problem was is that the cost to the consumer would be to great just for a front end kit. The retail in your hobby store would have been around 165 bucks . We didn't think anyone would buy such an expensive product. What do you guys think. Do you think there would be a market for 165 dollar upgrade?"

So what do you all think, would you spend around $165 to beef up the front end with MIP? Lets hear your thoughts.

It would be nice to see the set-up in pictures! I would pay for super quality stuff! Too bad this didn't come up before I ordered all my VP front end stuff.

Why did they stop making the AX10 axles?

EDIT: I like MIP's stuff and yes, if we're talking a complete axle (housing ?, chubs, knuckles and cvd's)... that's not an outrages price once you add up all the components.

I have no idea, you would need to talk to someone at MIP directly for the answer to that one. Told Matt I would post this here to guage interest.

I feal your pain zippoman. I have way over $165 in my front axle alone but then again the only thing left stock is the CV shafts and axle houseings.

That's what I'm thinking. It would cost that much now upgrading all of the front end components.

We have proven that beefy shafts can be done in the space provided. I see no reason to have to purchase what they are proposing.

I don't mind paying $165 for a complete front axle with quality components.

I agree, high quality parts are worth the price. If people want cheap parts there are plenty out there, but there will always be some of us willing to spend to get the best. I'm planning to get MIP's Spline Center CVD kit for my build.

If it's everything except the axle housing, i'd pay that. pretty much what it costs for quality parts anyway, just all in one nice package.

I'd like to see a axle shaft that fits in a stock axle! With all the vanquish just in the front end, I don't like changing everthing out. I have allways used ther cvds/center drives and push people towards useing ther products. I've worked at three shops and curently work in a hobby shop, its hard to sell $45 cvds to people as it is. I have no problems with the cost myself , I know what I pay for is quality! MIP is going to make a bigger bearing setup? Is why new chubs/knuckles/axle houseing? I'd rather see cvds like what they made for the scx10,traxxas,losi,AE.......ect!

I 100% agree with you.. The stock universals with a bit more beef would be great for near 99% of the fellas out there.. And most fellas already have upgraded aluminum parts that would have to be shelved just to use the MIP system.. I love MIP don't get me wrong.. Just don't need new C's and knuckles

Don't get me wrong, I freaking love MIP driveshafts....there the ONLY drive shafts I will run.

I hope they redesign the CVDs because the old ones didn't have a sleeve over the ends of the pin, hence letting the pin come out and then causing issues. At least I had a issue with this, this might be a isolated incident.
