| 32p spur on Wraith kit
As part of Wraith vs Yeti, Kit vs RTR debate I’m having (mostly with myself), I’d like to hear some opinions: Assuming I go ‘Wraith kit – Brushless’: will upgrading to 32p spur/pinion be viable? The Spawn is equipped with a 32p spur. And comparing the manuals/ partnrs. I believe I could easily fit the Spawn spur and slipper plates. Only difference I see is the 32p gear axle is 1mm longer. Also the 32p is geared lower (56/12 = 4.67) compared to the 48p (80/20 = 4), which is not a big issue considering I’m going brushless (KV’s to be determined) What I found in parts totals about $40. AX30723: $6.00 AX31026: $6.25 AX31207: $5.00 AX31068: $5.00 AX31180: $8.00 AX31149: $9.00 I don't know what Harley's Supershafty-Slash-slipper assembly will add up to. Any comments? |

If you are even Hallucinating about going brushless, Don't be afraid pull the trigger Super Shaft ultimate top shaft and Robinson Racing 32 pitch steel spur and slipper assembly.

I attempted this 32p upgrade on my Wraith kit. Upon securing the cover (AX8007 I found it doesn't fit....the spur hits the outer cover?!?!? The new dual slipper setup does not use the plastic spacer (AX80051 # which I left off when I assembled mine together. Its almost like the alum spur gear spacer is too long. Checking the manuals which lists AX31180 (alum spur spacer) separately, upon receiving all of the parts listed above folks will notice an aluminum spur space IS included with AX31149 (updated top shaft). Thinking there is reason Axial has a separate part number, I matched the two spacers up and they're identical. I do not see how I could possibly have installed these parts incorrectly...at this point I'm lost and hoping someone else has done this upgrade can lend some advice. I will post up some pics once i get back to the house. |

Duratrax 56t spur for the Nitro Evader is a direct fit to the old slipper that comes with the Wraith kit. No mods needed other than a matching pitch pinion. Will fit under spur cover.

| Re: 32p spur on Wraith kit Thank you for the tip...i may go that route. I'm hoping to use the parts I already purchased especially the dual slipper. Either I have a wrong part or I have overlooked something during assembly.

That's what I did I couldn't get the duratrax spur to go on my slipper I had to take some sand paper and ever so slightly sand the inner circle. Then it went on no problem

The single slipper holds up to 4600kv on 3s and a lot of abuse from me. Any 32p spur with the multi-hole pattern will fit, I believe mine is a Kimbrough. Tighten it down all the way, then back off just a nudge. |

It appears in the pics of some Spawn tranny part outs on Ebay, the gear cover is slightly different than the Wratih kit/RTR cover even though the part number is the same. |

Also I see offers of gears in 'tungsten carbide'. No idea what material that is? | |

RR slash 32p 56t spur....u can still use the stock spur cover cause it clears just fine and having a beefy setup is a plus

| Re: 32p spur on Wraith kit Plastic material, don't know what but it works. I really don't see the need for a steel spur. I've ran all my cars with plastic spur and I've only stripped ONE single spur the last 3-4 years. The trick is to have the mesh properly adjusted.

I really like this traxxas slipper and 32 pitch gear. Direct replacement for the stock slipper assy. 54 T spur with 10 T pinion gives a perfect 5.4:1 ratio Smaller spur leaves room for max shafts and yokes Slipper works way better than stock Super cheap & and easy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5507-Traxxas...item20ebe8e9c2 |

64t is the largest I could fit with MIPs. 64/11 is still fast on 4600kv and 3s |

All this is great info...thanks! I tried to open up the 3 holes on the traxxas 56T spur but could not get it right as once installed it was not properly centered, only wasted a few $. I since ordered the Duratrax spur and a few different pinions in 12, 13 and 14T to try out. Stinks I have all these parts for the updated dual slipper and I can use them without a gear cover from a Spawn.

My duratax. 32p. Direct bolt on is holding up to a year of 200 running 4-6s. I'm running 56/14. Plenty fast on 4-6 with gobs of low end grunt from the 2650watt motor. Everything else will tear apart but the spur gear is strong even though it's not metal

Yup ditch cover. Only place I eat spurs is the sand so those get steel. But sand eats everything else |
