Which means I need Lexan.

The side panels I'm sending will be from the RTR Wraith if that will help you get started. Everything else in the box will be clear.

So tomorrow all of the panels will get boxed a shipped out and I can get everything else wrapped up while waiting. When the panels come back it should be go time.
It going something wild or mild as far the graphics go ?

I meant your front hubs are missing.

The SA rig is badass too!

How are you getting power from bec pro to servos? Hopefully not all through 1 servo plug, because they are only rated for 5A max. But im sure you know that.

Missed this.

For graphics I'm thinking about basing it off of the Poison Spyder rig.

Result from the drift session.

This was the driver's side rear tire.

Moved the small 3-cell Li-Po for the winch and lights. Young_Version came up with the idea of battery placement and we tag-teamed designing the mount. I still need to clean up some of the edges and prime/paint the mount, but I couldn't be happier with function and battery protection.

Super simple, fits the rig perfect, and the battery is locked in place. Two screws secure everything. One holds the battery clamp to the main battery tray, the other passes through the chassis and bolts the main battery tray in place.

Video showing how it works.

Working on packaging for all the electronics.

Castle Creations BEC Pro and Futaba RX are mounted on the rear firewall.

Up front there's a load of electronics. Tekin RX8, Castle Creations BEC, Thunder Power 3-cell 850mAh Li-po, Hitec 7980TH, and Thunder Power 2-cell Li-po mounted under the hood. Pretty cramped with the Exo steering rack in the way.

Now that placement is sorted, I get to focus on a ton of wiring.
Two batteries, two BECs, four servos, four MadDogRC lights, 3Racing light kit, switches, and a winch controller.

Wow, it seemed as if moving the battery opened so many doors as far as placement for everything else. Looks super clean and organized. Good job!

All I've got to say is you're a machine! I've literally spent hours going through this thread. So many ideas it makes my head hurt! I can't count how many times I said "no way!" in amazement.

Thanks for taking the time to document this build.

Thanks, man.

Got RusT's rig wrapped up today. DTP came over and worked on wiring for his lights.

I decided to tackle an idea that's been floating in my head since DTP came back with his RC4WD goodie bag from Oregon.

I'm running a 4PKS and have a ton of equipment in the rig. Front and rear steering, five light bars, two BECs, the RX8, 3Racing light unit, C.L.A.W V2 winch, and the micro servo in Stig's head.

With front and rear steer, throttle, and winch all four channels on the 4PKS were populated. And I was happy.

Until I got to drive RC4WD's AX2 transmission.

So, to clear up a channel to shift the transmission I decided to put RC4WD's wireless winch controller to use.

Pics tell the story.

The circuit board of the RC4WD handheld control unit. I soldered some wire to the two switches so I can make a 5PKS.

Gutted the winch controller board, heat-shrinked it, and made an adapter to plug my C.L.A.W. into the RC4WD board at the white plug. The controller board is powered by a Castle Creations BEC set to 7.2V. That BEC is powered off the Thunder Power 850mAh 3-cell Li-Po.

Then it was time to rip the 4PKS apart.

Started wire routing through the radio.

The RC4WD transmitter board is housed in the empty pocket inside the 4PKS.

Wires exit with the factory 4PKS bundle. I'll pick up pushbutton microswitches tomorrow and mount/wire them in.

The system works great and once I get the switches installed in the transmitter I won't have to fumble with carrying an additional unit to operate the winch.

So there's a simple 5PKS. Enjoy.

Good thinking on the remote - I have been toying with the same idea on the 4PL but for a better independant 4WS control. Although it never dawned on me to use the RC4WD winch controller.

On a side note - How are you liking the Claw winch? Have you had a chanse to compair it to Quicksand in respect to speed and power?

He's hasn't, but I have.

A Quicksand is in a class of it's own. The Claw is the best of the rest.

This is 100% correct.

I had a QS on my old RCP Wreckluse. That was the strongest, most reliable winch I've seen for RC.

The C.L.A.W. is all metal construction and performs well, but nothing like the QS. QS has faster line speed and more torque.
