Wraith roof section is better. The Wraith roof has the bosses that fit inside the recesses on the Wraith side cage. The Exo roof has recesses just like the Wraith side cage does. The solution there would be to make an insert. I've used both the modified Exo and the forward section of the Wraith roof and will be using both at different times. The Wraith roof is much stronger when using the GoPro boom.

Jason, I'm really digging this build. I know the focus is on the IFS, and it looks like you've done a great job on it. I'm also impressed with the electronics for the lights and driver.

The Exo back half is right on. I think this is how the wraith should have been designed from axial. Do you have any pics of the rear suspension flexing?

I'd like to see it compressed and some articulation shots if you get the time.

Thanks bud.

Now get back to work.

I spent time this week thrashing on my son's SCX and my SCX Rubicon to prep for a mini G6 we had on Saturday so I've been neglecting this build.

This week, though. I'll get the electronics completely buttoned up.

Neal (Freq E) is working on skins for the thing. Terminating all of the electrical connections and getting skins installed will be the last two things it will need.

I'm pretty sure there are flex shots in the first couple of pages of this thread. Taken at the hotel, if I remember right.

I'll try to get some tomorrow if I remember.

No worries boss. I've got 4 boys so I know how dads projects can get bumped for the little dudes.

I don't remember any good rear flex shots with the longer rear shocks, but no biggie. If ya remember them that would be cool. If not I'll find out before too long.

Can't wait to see this build all finished up.

Lots of winching/strapping. More than I expected. It was a fairly narrow trail up a hillside and it was difficult to drive at times because there was just so many feet on the ground.

I had a good time driving, but got frustrated with the time spent winching/strapping through the gates. Being tired didn't help, either.

Then it rained. Rocks got slick, the clay turned to mud, and with my son's steering taking a crap, it was time to come off the hill.

I ended up having an ESC power cable come loose too.

In 2 1/2 hours we made 49 of 200 gates and had one person about 5 gates in front of us.

Got home and charged the batteries we used that day. Between lights, driving, and winching, I used 4033mAh with the AE2 and 20-turn Axial, Jeff used 3178mAh with the AE2 and a Novak 55-turn.

That's some good data on the power consumption.
I wish more people would share their weight/gearing/motor/esc and power consumption.

Working on the fuel cell today. This uses the fuel cell cap from the Axial SCX10 Rubicon kit and will help hide the rear steering servo.

Did you use your dimple die setup to make the raised edges around the holes?

Yes. Pretty easy to do with the flashing. I use a 7/64" bit to drill the holes, a 3mm screw and nut, and some conical and concave washers. Do layout with a Sharpie, press an awl on centers so the drill bit doesn't wander, and get to work. I space the holes 8mm apart on centers. Seems to be good spacing.
