Hensel has the hydro scorpion. I sold off a lot of the old crawlers, gave some away, threw some away, and gave away about 60 airplanes to my wife's soldiers. Also gave them boats, crawlers, and other stuff.

Great work JIA

I tested mine and here is what I found.

The truck is very stable at speed and will be a great trail truck.

The miss are in the steering, the throw is not enough for crawling. The steering components I have on the truck are the stock plastic one and I have to much plastic bend with a 430 oz servo. I will have to go aluminum and find a way to get more steering out of it.

I also thought that I had the front diff locked but it freed up. I had it in hot glue but that is not enough, will have to find a better way to do it.

Here are some pics of how did my front bumper as you showed me in your pics but I add 2 brace to the frame to keep the bumper from flipping backward.

Thanks for the inspiration and keep the great work. I will be playing to find a fix for the steering and I will let you know what I find.

I'd use epoxy, that stuff is good. Or buy some difflocking fluid and you can take it off later.

I used a Wraith locker up front with the Exo universals.

For steering, I added rear steer. Use the stock Wraith stuff out back. Also, make sure you move the steering toe links to the forward-most hole in the steering rack. That will give you a little more throw.

I plan to use the stock Wraith bumper braces, just haven't got to that yet.

I love this build. But it must be a rather costy one if it takes two kit's to build one. And it would be even more if you load it with aftermarket parts!

How did you lock the the output shaft Axial EXO Heavy Duty Differential Output Shaft on the wraith locker ????

Thanks for all the help.

I didn't worry about it. I put O-rings in the drive cups to take up slack when I built the Exo. Using Exo drive cups slid in to the Wraith locker.

They can't come out - there's nowhere for them to go. The dogbone end of the universal keeps the drive cups in.

I JB welded my exo front but the downfall is that if I smoke a diff bearing or ring gear I'll have to replace all of it as a unit. I dont think i'd trust o-rings to keep the output "D" from slipping out of the side gears.

There are no side gears, just a solid locker. The O-rings go IN the drive cups to keep the stock Exo dogbones from popping out of the drive cup at the steering knuckle.

With universals installed I left the O-rings in place. The diff drive cups can't pop out because they're kept in place by the universal shaft/dogbone - whichever you're using.

It's no different than simply sliding your Wraith shafts in place and allowing the ends of the axle shafts to sit in the Wraith locker.

I'm doing the same thing, but by using the Exo drive cups, I can use the Wraith Locker (or any aftermarket locker like a Felsenfest) and tighten the locker setscrews (with aftermarket) on the drive cups instead of the axle shafts.

Only REAL difference is I have a hinge point (drive cup/dogbone) on each drive side that allows the IFS to work.

Make sense?

I said side gears 'cause that is how mine is set-up. I understand that your using a spool. Same same..

I see where your coming from but what happens when the o-rings get torn and spit out by the end of the dog bone plunging in and out when the suspension cycles?

One of those clamping spools would probably be the best idea.

You'd be surprised at how long people have been using O-rings for things like this. It's fairly common. They last a long time, too.

Small update. MadDogRC lights arrived.

The dual 4" Exo bar fits perfect.

Later today I'll install the others.

Night runs WILL NOT be an issue.

I like how much crap you guys are giving him over the out drive cups.

He built this thing in a hotel room with little more than a few hand tools, I'm sure he made sure they aren't gonna fall out.
