| Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build No, no compressor in the room. Just couldn't pass on the deal and my 60 gallon compressor will be just fine when we finally get a house. Felt like crap yesterday but I left to pick up the plasma 'cause it was such a good deal. Feeling better today so I got back to work. Finally got around to piecing together the top section from the Exo cage. Had to shorten it a bit to make it fit what's left of the Wraith. I just cut it, center drilled, and pinned it with 1/8" steel like I did on the other cage sections. Also decided to use the Lexan roof panel from the Exo. The design of the panel reminds me of stick-on Lund cowl scoops but it'll do. Not as plain as a regular flat panel. Grabbed some aluminum and styrene while I was out today so I can now get to work mounting the last MadDogRC LED light and start scratch building some pieces for the rear. I hope I still know how to work with styrene. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 07-16-2012 at 08:38 PM. |

Really liking the slammed look of this build. I didn't catch it. What are the length are your rear shocks? If you don't mind. |

Spent forever cutting aluminum with the Dremel tonight. Used a cardboard box as a work surface while drilling through the aluminum. Duct tape was used to clean the mess off the floor. Still need to finish shaping the mount and give it a coat of either flat or semi-gloss black, but when these MadDogRC lights are on, you won't see the mount. Less LEDs more testdriving. It's not even dark at this time of the year, atleast not in Finland. So, all this has been done in a hotel room? You mentioned that before, but it's quite hard to believe. |

That front skid plate is dying for a winch fairlead.

| Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build His wife is not concerned about how much it costs....mostly because he is building this in conjunction with something on a much larger scale than this build thread...plus, he used to do this for living before, so he knows a few people. Rodeo Anyone? |

Those lights are great. I checked the price on their site and went The top lights, bumper and rock lights, you have as much into lights as I do into my entire Wraith |

This is one sick Ultra4 rig, I love what the mind and some tool's in the right hands can do... Now for those of us that can't build we just site and wait for Axial to come out with there version in the next year... Last edited by yoda@4x4; 07-17-2012 at 10:40 AM. |

| Re: JIA's IFS Ultra4 build It was good. I actually laughed out loud. As soon as I find one I like I'll get one installed. I have the RC4WD Viking fairlead but it's way too thick. Right now it looks like the MadDog RC aluminum fairlead will be the way to go. Quote:
I've heard rumors as well, but they're vague. Just that it'll be something scale. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 07-17-2012 at 12:50 PM. | |
