| Tekin T8 into Wraith
I'm a little strapped for time right now, so I don't have a lot of spare time to just try doing this mod so I'll ask you guys. Has anyone fitted a Tekin T8 into their Wraith? I'm not wanting to butcher the floor pan. Trying to keep the "scale" looks but add a little more boost. |

There will be all kinds of issues trying to fit that. Motor is too long, doesn't bolt onto an Axial transmission and interference with the interior. Not many of us have all the time in the world, do some work and make it fit if you want. Nobody's going to do it for you! |

I am running a summit trans with wraith axles, a t8 1550kv t8 motor on 4s and 6s. So far the axles are holding up fine. |

You can make anything work. But there's not a t8 kit you cam buy. I got a t8 mounted to my axial trans with no more than a drill bit and patience. Good luck

I know this is an old thread but has someone come up with a solution. What did you need to do to fit the T8 into the wraith? |

I swapped it for a pro 4 since I didnt want to run more than a 3s and I wasnt looking forward to doing what needed to be done in order for it to fit into the wraith belly.

Damn dude it works. Just got a clearance the skid plate for length and shim the tranny up. Looks like I'm still the only one running a 1/8 scale motor. 2100 kV 2250 watts yeah baby |

i think theres a motor plate available that works. i reworked my motor plate with a dremel. ill work on the pics clearenced into the link mount quite aways. also took the ribbs out of the inside of the skideplate. didnt realy need to could have to just shimmed tranny up. used 5.5mm bulletts also removed some cooling fins so the motor would sit closer to the tranny. with 60 spur this wouldnt be neccesarry. ive ran 66 and 56 spurs this motor is super smooth on 66 spurr. 66 spurr took some modding to get on to. motor and esc combo was 100 bucks shipped so i wanst scared to grind the fins off the motor. with 0 timing this motor runs cold and has seen probly 10 hours or more of run time with no issues. 150 track star esc also works awesome. heres how my wraith sits after the last 6s run. so far this combo has stripped all the tranny gears broke a few drivelines and smokked both diff lockers. ive been getting into crawling latly and running scale comps and on 3s this motor does pretty dang well. its not smoothest or most ideal setup but it does pretty dang good with the trackstar drag brake set at 100% and good 3s battery is surprisnly smooth for being sensorless Last edited by evan03; 03-05-2013 at 04:42 PM. |
