Well I tore it apart and cleaned it. While I was at it I moved the ESC/BEC/RX to the "fuel tank" at the back of the rig. I had to remove the cases from the mamba max and the receiver but it all fits in there. Once I'm done painting it to look like a fuel cell I'll silicone it shut and take out for a test run. I just hope that the lack of airflow doesn't kill the mamba max. No pics yet, later tonight.

Rig looks like s**t, man! Can't believe you did that to it!

J/K. Looks great, man! And certainly seems like you're havin' fun with it! You definitely gots bigger balls than me takin' it through all that mud! I don't even take my 1:1 through mudh if I can help it because I hate the cleanup. And I can't use my 3k psi pressure washer on the Wraith.

I love mud, growing up in the desert, we don't get much of it. I that's why I'm always looking for it.

I just realized that I don't even have any pics up of the wraith after paint. Well, primer. Everything looks good in primer gray.

Damn, I need a new spur gear and I'm good to go. I hope it's still muddy this weekend.

i finished waterproofing the cookie cutter and hit a local crawl spot this morning. no water/mud this time around though.q

its not pretty but it works.

i opened up the box after i washed the truck off with the hose, no water got inside. the lid is not waterproof, i'll have to silicone it shut when i finally finish detailing the lid to look like a fuel cell. but it stood up to being hit with a garden hose. which is probably more water than it'll see out wheelin. you can also see where the aluminum panels are showing some damage.

To use the Maxx shafts, did you use the older style yokes for the 5mm shafts? I'm not sure if the Wraith uses 5 or 6mm outputs.

those maxx shafts youre running, are they an axle shaft? look an awful lot like the half shafts for the stampedes ive got laying around, i just wasted one of the rtr cvd's on mine today an was thinking about trying a pede shaft. since ive got a bunch of them. i like the rtr axial cvd's but think loctite 'ing the cross pins is a terrible idea. broke my hex driver trying to get it out, then stripped the cross pin. now gotta remove the trans to try an get the output off.

All I did to fit the max shafts was cut the motor plate and gear cover and do some dremel work on the yoke for the front shaft to clear the trans.

They are e/t maxx axles hafts technically. Just a larger version of the stampede shafts. Even stampede shafts with steel yokes would be an improvement over the stock wraith shafts.

sweet deal, thats what i wanted to hear. my only concern is binding at a high angle, mine is still stock height, and i beleive yours is lowered slightly. but ive got enough extras its worth a try. at least save me from buying parts for a while.

They're all pretty even in that aspect. I think the maxx shafts handle angles a little better than stampede shafts but that could be my imagination.

Wraith
Stampede

Try the female-male-female way of doing it. Use a female, chop a male piece and glue it inside the female end to give the length required. Then use a female on the other end as well, you get quite a bit of length in that fashion.

No prob and I've had ca as well as shoe goo work well. Really you're only gluing it in place so as not to slide in/out.
