New Build started

I just got my kit this week and wanted to share with you all the progress and results.

Still need to work on the decals and scale accessories, but I am really happy how it is turning out.

I am using a castle SCT esc with a 27t motor geared at 14/87 and 2s Lipo. I have not taken it out for a run yet, but I am sure I will be playing with gearing and motors until I find the one that suits my need.

Also running a Traxxas 2075 servo. Not really sure how that will hold up, but would not be surprised if it gives out and will have to replace with a more powerful one (any recommendations?).

Well as I experiment and build out my truck I will keep you guys posted.

So i have done a lot more work on my rig. Check out the pics and let me know what you think.

First I wanted to move my battery to the front so I can make space for the accessories in the back.

I made a base where I can place the receiver box

Next I moved my ESC and battery to the front using the stock battery tray and trimming it a bit to fit.

I then modified my Traxxas TQ Link 2ch radio to 4ch so I can control my winch and lights.

Made a winch plate from the aluminum plate that come in the radio shack project box. The width is an exact fit. Just had to trim the length and drill holes to mount the winch.

Lastly I made a rear cover plate out of styrene and added the accessories. Also just note the fuel tank came from my honcho body. Nothing better than recycling old bodies :-)

Added hood hinge kit and proline roof rack.

Great paint job! You need some ligths on the roof for your adventures ;-)

Thanks. Not really as I have waterproofed all electronics. However the motor didn't seem to like it. Completely stalled when it took a full dunk. Strange thing is that the motor does not need waterproofing. Might have to swap that axial 27t out for a better one. Tekin motors have been great for me.

Thanks :-)

Lights are next on my list to purchase. Well.... After a new Hitec 7955TG servo. Stripped out the gears on the Traxxas 2075 after a small jump. Good thing is that the replacement gears are $4.00. So in the meantime will have to keep swapping out gears until I can get the new servo.
