Cole's Crawlmaro

Well, this is my first build thread and I'm 17 so I'll do my best. It started out as a RTR wraith geared more toward speed than crawling. I absolutely love the southern buggy builds here on rcc so I pmed the great warriorsimi a few months ago about building a tuber. After realizing I cant afford it lol, he throws me a deal on his wraith chassis with custom delrin rear cage work and nothing less of resembling the Crawlmaro. I had to have it.

As of now here are the specs

Tekin pro4 3300kv
MMP
BEC
Savox Servo
dx3c
VP chubs, knuckles, rear lockouts
VP links
2010 Chevrolet Camaro Body
Mayhem Monster EX wheels
Proline 90mm shocks
RC4WD 2.2 Two Face Tires= Garbage
Servo winch
HD F/R ring & pinion
HR spools
Wraith Kit front axle shafts
RC4WD Warn Hubs
RR Tranny gears
MIP Driveshafts

Just before the chassis swap

The tires were manageable on dry rock, but its safe to say they are garbage compared to a good tire like ripsaws. The Two Faces really are awful on wet rock. I will never use them again. But at least they looked cool

Also due to Crawlmaro learning how to swim, only the receiver fried, so no big D 8)

Re: Cole's Crawlmaro

That looks brilliant, given me a few ideas for different looks for my Wraiths that I may not have considered.

Do work driver!
It's nice to see this finally made it. Waterproof the hell outta it and get it back with some decent wheels.
Would love to see this at Northwest Scale championships.

It's rides like this that are under appreciated.
In all honesty, people with wraith don't have a clue.
If only the would venture into the 2.2 section and see real trucks.

nice to see a different look of the wraith...bumblebee yellow and black would have been cooler, but that's just me

It's a version of a real truck. The color is damn near half the appearance to pull something like that off.

Really, why do you say that?

All Im saying is The Wraith is a great Truck. But its a kit and
every single one out there is the same as the next one.

This on other hand is thinking outside of the box.

10-4, agreed! Guess I took that a different way. :ror:

Congratulations on a sweet and original build. Just be prepared for people copying the idea.

Has anyone done a write up on water proofing the pro4? After seeing those photos we deffantly know you did it right.

Yes! But actually rbgerrish did that for me. I think he just used clear silicon and surrounded the sensor plug and the 3 motor wires with it. Before instillation I used a few small set screws with loctite to fill in the extra holes on the shaft side of the pro4. Then mounted the motor to the motor plate using the only 2 screw ports left "the 2 big ones". Hope this helps but I wouldn't go submersing it on purpose ever! "thumbsup"
