I just need to hunt down one blue LED for the rear facing light bar.
I should be able to get all the lights this time next week.

Thinking main yellow body color, with white accent stripe and black hood. Only colors I have at the house right now are red, silver, green, black and burn your eyes neon yellow.

Possibility. Decided on "Daytona Yellow" but it won't be here for 7 days. Good ol' air shipping ban on aerosols.

I got tons of led's. Let me know what you need. They are just the led but I have red, orange, blue, white, and green. Bought them in bulk when I did my Ultra 4 light bar setup.

Oh yeah, when you join those tubes with the sleeved rod, another way to keep it together and make it removable is to drill each side and put set screws looking down on the rod. Or for added security.

I couldn't go the long set screw route due to the way the cage goes together. I I added a couple more braces by cutting up what I had left over and I think it should be strong enough.

Quickly painted the body and threw it on the truck. Not mounted yet.
Detailed out the radiator and added a couple washers to the fans to dress em up a bit.

Not sure I a like it or not. Still need to add some detail to it here and there.
I know the WB of the body is kinda short for this setup but oh well.

Tips, comments or suggestions?

I didn't mean use a set screw in place of the rod, just drill the OD of the chassis bars and then put a small set screw in that tightens down on the rod. Like the way it's done on a driveshaft attaching to diff gear.

Ahhh. I'm pickin' up what your puttin' down. I put epoxy in the chassis holes I drilled out with a 1/8" drill bit and then on the joints before I pushed them together. I think it will hold.

Split the roof and then taper the doors in to march the cage. Might look cool. Only thin I don't like about "bodies" on these chassis is the front end is so pushed out.

Yea, the front end looks pretty raked out. Just don't stare too long.

I think, once I actually screw the body to the side of the chassis to mount it, it should pull the sides in just enough.

The yellow and white came out really nice. The white stripe is the perfect accent.
As for the front fender, I think if you squared the front out more it will take away from the off wheel base. If the front edge isn't radiused then there is no real reference for it being disporpornate. With that being said I think it looks kick ASS just like it sits.

Thanks for the advice. I'll do some hacking before too long

.................................................. .................................................. ...............................

I ordered up about $50 in panels from CarterFab. Wraith body panels . Rear chassis floor, boat sides, front inner fenders and some custom inner fender guards.

On another note. I hooked up a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL , Old P2K Copperhead I had sitting around and a 3S lipo and took it for a spin around the yard.

This truck is a blast to drive. It handles great. Almost zero chassis roll and when you gun it, the front rises a little and the rear swats. I ran it on a 14tooth pinion. Motor isn't the best for slow crawling, especially with no front end weight but it gets by.

Truck is ~ 6lbs 10oz right now.

Got in the panels from Carter Fab & Machine - Home

Front inner panels, cut down side/inner 1/4 panels, boatsides and a rear floor. All the panels were a direct fit, minus the inner panels under the hood area due to the exo front graft. And I'll have to drill some holes in the rear floor to accommodate my rear exo graft.

I really like the look of the inner 1/4 panels. I asked Clay to shorten up his normal side panels because I didn't want a full side panel. Got exactly what I asked for. Good inner chassis protection and looks good too.

Been test driving the truck with a 27turn on 3S with a Holmes Hobbies BR-XL. Hence the swashed down light bar.
It handles really good. I was surprised.
More parts soon...

27t on 3s is about my favorite speed of brushed motor in the Wraith(ish) rigs. Any faster and they start eating brushes like crazy and becoming more space heater than motor, any slower and it isn't much of a rock racer.

Yea. The motor I have in there now is literally the first ever "stock" 27turn motor I bought, many years ago. Trinity P2K. Used it maybe twice before this week.
I was able to release a bit of magic smoke from it on the rocks a couple times. I have been running it really hard just to see how long it will make it. New motor and ESC on the "to buy" list. I'm thinking Pro4 with MMP for fast setup.

I really liked the 35 turn geared down a bit for crawling, with the BR-XL. That will probably be my "crawling" electronics setup but I don't see this rig crawling too much. It's way too much to drive fast.

That motor is fixed timing, yeah? Way too much advance at low speed, I don't doubt you let some smoke out!

Pro4's are awesome, you would be very happy with the combo.

To keep the light bar from pushing down when you rollover I put a couple little 2.5mm screws through the lower clamp into the "A" pillar.

Rig looks nice!!
