Szczerb'a Wraith Build, of sorts

17 Attachment(s)
Saw this http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...ith-build.html and got inspired to do a build with the Exo and wraith.

Goal is for a lightweight, go fast, get some cardio in, semi-scale build.
Most of my builds miss the scale touches and this one will be right on par with that.

Axial Exo Kit (no babies were injured while building the kit)
Axial Wraith Chassis (body will be covering it at a later date)
Custom centered Wraith rear axle by Carter Fab, stock gear turned down to accommodate shaved diff.

To be continued....

Should be seeing that axle at your place tomorrow. Looking good Shane.

Got it in . "thumbsup"

Quick mock up.

That's a super cool rig.

Thanks. The IFS wraith has been done but with not a centered rear Wraith axle. Body ordered yesterday to cover up that wraith cage.

Wheels/tires are mock up only. I'll have a little bit of a challenge to get the correct offset wheel up front, since the exo is kinda wide up front. It will probably have to be a 2.2/3.0 wheel setup.

Looks great.

Nice work on the axle, Clay.

I think the IFS and solid rear are what makes it cool. The front is wide for sure. Make it easy and match the rear width to the front.

Needs trailing arms and double rear shocks.

I like it, looking forward to seeing you chase this thing around LRC with your floppy hat

This is my second centered AR60 from CarterFab. I should have never let the first one go but this one is even cooler.

With the wheels/hubs I have on there now, I am about 1/32" of an inch from the steering arm. I'll have to go with a 2.2/3.0 wheel or get tricky with a custom Carbon Fiber wheel or something. I'll have to check out the G6 rules again to see if a 2.2/3.0 wheel is allowed.

Goal for this rig is a trophy truck/G6/crawler. I have googled the heck out of google to find a body wide enough for this that is not a 1/6th scale or a shortcourse truck body.
My choice will be here Monday and I'll mock it up and see what it looks like.

Trailing arms are on the to do list. Not sure if I'll make them or what. I have the Exo exo-cage here and thought about modding it to the wraith cage as well to run the longer shocks.

I'll have to work on my cardio the next few months "thumbsup"

Yep, I was checking that build out yesterday. Like I said, I have searched the internet for the past 5 days looking for a body that will work for me.
The baja is one of my next choices if the bronco body I have coming in next Monday does look good. Kinda going for the truck/boxy look. We'll see.

Put the Exo wheels/ tires on for width reference and put the wraith shocks up front. Much better ride height with the same amount of travel.

Front = 11"
Rear = 10.5"

Any one know if 2.2/3.0 tires are legal in G6 events? Guess I should search cause that is what I am going to have to run up front with the exo knuckle arm setup.

Looking good Shane! I can't wait to see it in person. Scale touches or not, if it ends up half as nice as your f-toy you will have a bad ass rig!

Does'nt look like a 2.2/3.0 tire would be legal judging by the last sentence.

- Tires may be 1.55, 1.9, or 2.2, but must be a licensed manufactured tire or knock offs. Tires must resemble the real thing and can only be siped or grooved. No other alterations may be made.

The new RC4WD Hitman wheels clear the Exo knuckles. That's what's going on my rig.

Pro-Line Powerstrokes (Slash rear) will make that front end buttery smooth.

If you plan on grafting the Exo rear into the Wraith cage, you'll need to mount your rear shocks on the outside of the shock mounts at the axle instead of mounting them in the shock mount.

Thanks. Hopefully, most people will just see this rig blowing by them, so scale looks shouldn't matter that much. :ror:

Yea, I read that the other day. Just didn't see anything about the wheels themself but a 2.2/3.0 isn't very scale, I guess. And I Guess my 6.25" swampers are illegal too.:ror:

Good info! I saw the Hitman's the other day but didn't put 2 and 2 together until you said something. Thanks. Looks like the 2.2 "Coldbores" could work too. But the Hitman's look better.
I have used your thread as a build guide so far and saw how you mounted the rear shocks with the exo rear graft. I'll be doing that setup if the body fits right. I'll have to wait til Monday to start looking at mating the two.

If you don't use that Exo cage, let me know. I might pick it up.

I'll catch my peek while it sits on a table. Weeble Wobbles like me don't move fast enough to have a chance to see things, even comp crawlers any other way. :lmao:

Going to keep it, pretty sure. If, not, I'll let you know.
Traded off everything else to Nova's Ark for some new 5mm Axial trans outputs, tires/foams and the CI Wraith Electronic's tray.

Thanks, All the IFS motivation came from JIA's IFS thread.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Locked up the front end with a locker and shimmed the dog bones in good with o-rings.
Added the EXO light bar
Put on my 6.25" swampers for fun. Legal in my back yard :flipoff:
More updates before too long.
