Default Paging Mr. Holmes. Re: The TrailMaster

Have not heard a lot of mention here in the forum of anyone running these in their wraiths. I recall you saying that a 27t was your pick for said rig. Is this new?

Anyone else run this? I got a lil extra on the paycheck this week and I think it's time for a new motor. Read up plenty on the various other HH motors, but haven't seen a whole lot on this one.

Feedback? Seems like it would be a blast in the wraith.

You'll get ALOT better results posting in his vendors section instead of him stumbling across this thread in a Wraith section.

I see it now

It is a relatively new product, a brushed motor built for bashing around in dirty conditions with higher wheelspeed than other typical builds. A 27t would be an excellent choice for 3s use if you geared down properly.

Sounds like my love life.

What gearing would you recommend? I'm running 48p still.

16t pinion or smaller with the stock spur, and it is best to check your motor heat to ensure it isn't going over 180f on the can.

I have parts here to build plenty, thanks for the heads up! Site is updated.

Even though the TrailMaster is built for dirty service, I don't recommend them for mud and water use. Its just too expensive of a motor to ruin so fast. I have a shipment of sealed can versions in route that are better for such abuse. The RC4WD sealed can motors are also good for mud and water.

okay i was under the opposite impression, i had read that the sealed motors (if youre referring to the traxxas titan style) were worse because they tend to hold everything in, instead of it being able to rinse out. thanks for the heads up before i bought one. i definately need something that can take multiple submergings.

I just ordered one a couple of days ago. Though I don't know when it will come in? I like Holmes hobbies motors a lot they seem to be of a solid construction.
