Chicklet's Wraith #2 build *** Low & Dirty ***

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...s/45b50044.png

Of all the Wraiths I've owned....this is by far my favorite build.
This Wraith is meant to be driven fast and hard on the trail.
I really don't care about crawling it, I have my comp trucks for that.

I'm naming her Low & Dirty. I wanted this Wraith to be as low as possible while maintaining just a little flex.
After buying RTR's when they came out, and a kit...this one was put together from left over parts and the for sale section.
I found a new chassis cage and started adding parts over the months.
It seems like it took me 4 months to get this one together....the longest build EVER!
The battery was left in the rear, stock tray.
I find it keeps the truck a little more planted for those quick maneuvers. "thumbsup"
The rest of the truck (other than the replaced parts), are stock!

She finally had her maiden run a few weeks ago at Little Rock City. What a blast! All the guys wanted to drive it.

Thank you. Yep Everett is correct. They need time to get worn in. But a good bashing tire. I have to get some better foams, didn't have any to suit them. I'll be looking forward to the next Schism in the new compound.

Brass inserts are pressed into the plastic housing so no stripping occurs "thumbsup". I use a little CA glue when pressing the inserts. http://images2.mcmaster.com/Contents...g?ver=33576287 I get them from McMaster.

Oh thanks, seen those before but never used them for RC. So you drilled the case slightly and pressed in with tiny drop of CA. I've always had good luck using 3mm machine screws from McMaster in the proper length. Did you do this for ease of repeated threading in/our, better strength or?

To prevent stripping. It's a common mod done on XR10 axles.

Wraith looks good. Needs some Colorado pinstriping!

Yes you have to drill the case ever so slightly to allow the insert to fit. I use them in my trucks to avoid screws pulling out or backing out.
