Default Big difference between pro4 and 13,5t?

I need to upgrade to 32p gears and maybe from a redline 13,5t to a pro4 3300. Since my rig is a bit on the heavy side and I need more torque. Is there a big difference?

The top speed is very close (depending on gearing) but the biggest advantage running the pro4 is the huge amounts of torque you get!!! Can do standing wheelies with the pro4 not so much with a 13.5.

Huge difference. A pro4 is a scaled down t8 apparently. The Redline motors are 2pole as well.

Pro4 motor is a 4-pole motor, 13.5 is a 2 pole. MUCH more torque.
The pro4 motors were designed for the short course 4x4 trucks that were destroying motors and need huge torque to get the 6+ lb trucks moving. Perfect combo for a wraith.
Really though, any of the 4-pole motors that will fit in the wraith chassis will make these things fly.

just came in from the first run with the pro 4 3300, OMG, I am going to have to run heavier springs on the right side, massive amounts of torque and can carry the left front for several several feet, Braking?? yea I need a new roof panel

Thinking I may do a RX8 and SC4x 4.5T or 5.5T as I have one of each rolling around in the toolbox. Will it fit a 550 can okay? (Picking up a NIB kit version from a guy off of Craigslist this afternoon.)

yes... it fits.. anything fits. with some help lol.

There are a few guys locally that run the T8 motors. they had to trim the interiors floor pan to get it in there. IMO its not a big trimming either.

When i ran the stock interior in my rig.. i trimmed it with the Pro4. not that it was needed... just for better heat shed.

Long post for a yes. GO FOR IT

Imo you'll run out of gearing options with those low turn motors. But hey I was also told a stock ax/scx tranny with steel outputs wouldn't hold up to a pro4 and haven't had probs yet.

Subscribe to Evol's channel. We have a bunch of Wraiths around KC running all kinds of setups. EVOL VILLAIN RC - YouTube

This video you can see my 11lb Pro4 Wraith racing against Bad Attitudes 8lb Tekin 13.5 Wraith. Both on 3s. Drag racing starts about 2:00 in.

The pro4 on 3s almost looks like 13.5t redline on 4s. Maybe alittle less power, but close.

Both are on 3s. The weight difference is a BIG factor. The top end on the Pro4 was still faster and still able to get out of the hole just as fast or faster.

Edit: I read your post wrong...

Well I know my 13.5 on 4s is almost uncontrollable on 4s. It needs sway bars and more tuning but it was fun.
Defiantly no wheelies though.
