Default RC4WD Humvee 2.2 Wheels

Well, after e-mailing RC4WD to see if their 2.2 Humvee beadlock wheels would fit on a stock Wraith, and being told they would, I ordered them. Well, they don't fit. The whole the axle goes thru is too small to fit over the raised center part on the Wraith 12mm hex. So, as I'am new at this, what now? Try to drill them out and hope the whole stays centered? Is there some other Axial 12mm hex to get with a smaller raised center, or no raised center? Is this common with beadlock wheels?

You can remove the wraith hexes and grind the center portion of the hex out. This will allow you to use the humvee wheels. I drilled the center of my wheels out, but my wheels are aluminum and very easy to drill. Either method will work. In this hobby, modifications are just part of the game.

Hex's off a scx10, honcho, or dingo do not have the shoulder. And I have drilled wheels to fit shoulder hex's without any problems.

Ya, that's what I thought, but I think I'am going to hold off drilling out the wheels.

You could grind down the step or nipple on the ( AX10 or Wraith ) hex right off with a dremel and use those wheels now.

Or wait for the scx10, dingo, honcho hex's, which do not have the step/nipple thingy on them at all.

no... not sure of the name of them either...bought them from a guy at a garage sale...they've stuck to the Axial hexes no matter what rig I put them on...that nipple thing makes sense though...have to look at that.
