Being a Traxxas guy I've always (subliminally) followed their lead on motor screws. Guess that screwed me. Axial's reasoning could be spot on, or SCS screws are just cheaper than dedicated motor screws. Either way we are all one now.

Understood. My slashes use the flat ones too.

Edit: Well the 2wd does....The 4wd has a different type of motor mount.

I just sacrificed my ancient S42 and transferred all of the parts to a Bandit Chassis for a beach buggy. I converted my S44 back from a 2WD buggy (from hell) to its' original 4WD short course self and I've killed a set of rear stock hard BFGs in about 4 street sessions. I love that rig. Neu1512/1Y hand wound (2700kV) on 3s is nuts.

Traxxas rocks.

I have a Castle 2400Kv sat waiting to go in the Sl4sh. It's nippy on the 3500Kv HW 4 Pole though so I have not put it in yet. Had to add some MIPs to the rear mind. The 2wd slash is even faster. Light so nothing heavy needed. Running a Castle SV3 with 5700kv....it is quick!

Holy crap...5700. I fried a CC4700 in my S42 in a single 100M full speed run once. Went back to my Traxxas 3500 and never changed it again. Now it's in an even lighter Bandit buggy.

I'm entertaining a sensored 4 pole for my S44 but know if one will be an improvement over my Neu motor. I think the lack of a sensor in my current motor makes my on/off throttle attacks worse on my batteries than they should be. I'm gearing down a little to get some more stall torque out of turns. I used to run a CC2200kV in my S44 and it was too heavy and low kV. Batteries were not happy.

Bought the 7075 rod from MMC and made them on my lathe.

In some early posts Rowdy asked you what the length of your Kyosho W5198V shocks were, eye to eye - did you ever measure them? I've read through the thread and couldn't see any dimensions...?

Another question about the shocks - I've ordered the same ones for my Yeti (46mm rear and 38 for the front), but I've only found a limited selection of springs for them on Amain.com. 3 spring rates for front and rear.

Do you know of any other alternative springs either from Kyosho or otherwise that fit these shocks?

thanks!

Awesome thread and awesome rig.. you got some talent, I got some good idea's and learned a lot from this thread, thanks.

Didn't see anything about what your runnin on the pinions? Bearings or bushings? Stock 5x11x4? The power you have, you have to be destroying them. Or do you just swap out new bearings/bushings daily?

On the rear lockouts, are you just runnin 4 bolts with no jb weld lookin stuff (cant remember what you called it)?

Also, any updates on this beast?
