Did a little more work on this one today.

Made a rear firewall for it, will have to make more for the other Ultra4s.

The RX and ESC are mounted on the center of the rear firewall. They fit inside the hump of the Wraith interior so they're tucked out of the way. Makes wiring a little easier as well.

Aside from decals and maybe a light kit, it's pretty much ready to go. At least major construction/fabbing of parts is done and over with.

Also got DTP's wrapped up tonight. He's running a Tekin RS Pro and a 3300kV Pro4. We turned the drag brake off with the RC4WD AX2 transmission. This allows for good jumps at speed in 2nd and the transmission holds the rig nice when crawling.

We took both rigs out tonight and the IFS rig is just so much better at speed than the SA rig and it doesn't seem to have any huge weaknesses in the rocks.

A comparison shot of the two. DTP's IFS rig has flipped lower shock mounts in the rear so the rear sits lower than the SA rig. Notice how the IFS rig has larger tires and still sits lower. Mean! The SA rig on the right is fun too. Just need to do some suspension tuning.

I believe that lizard is a Crested Gecko. They're commonly kept in captivity and are fairly simple to care for, if you're interested in keeping it;

Three in the morning and I'm done.

Got everything buttoned up and ready to go crawl with Badger tomorrow.

The opening in the RTR interior turned out perfect for programming the Novak ESC. The "transmission shift lever" turns the ESC on/off.

Opened up the headlights in the Dynamic Concepts Rubi body and installed a couple of lights from the stock Exo light bar. (I was out of the individual housings) Also notice the Carter Fab & Machine Ultimate Inner Fenders. I like how they cleaned up the front end. Looks even better with the flares on the DC Rubi body.

Plucked some decals from the Wraith decal sheet, the Exo decal sheet, and from Traxxas and Parma sheets I had here.

Rear shot. Shows off the Carter Fab & Machine centered Wraith axle. I removed the steering bits that I had on it from the IFS buggy. This rig won't ever see rear steer, it's just a go out and have fun ride. If you're wondering about the LEDs, it's a 3Racing kit. The orange LEDs in the center are on 100% all the time and the red LEDs are normally 50% brightness. Hit the brakes and the red LEDs go to 100%.

I was hoping to have the new tires for this rig before we hit the rocks, but it looks like I'll have to wait until Monday.

Nice! Got weight of Wraith vs your creation with same electronics, tires, and wheels for comparison?

Not sure I understand. Are you asking for weight of this blue SA rig vs my IFS rig?

This blue SA rig is 7lbs, 8oz RTR as pictured.

My IFS rig is 9lbs, 1oz RTR. That's with two batteries (Thunder Power 5400mAh 2S and TP 850mAh 3S, four servos, two BECs, Pro4, RX8...

Sorry, no stock Wraiths at my place.

According to Tower the Wraith is 5.5lbs. I would guess that's minus battery.

Just weighed the batteries in my IFS rig. 13oz. That puts the RTR weight of my IFS rig at 8lbs, 4oz. and it will shed weight soon. Swapping the seats out for a set from Team3six.

Went crawling with it and my wife was taking all the hard lines and taking about how easy it was to just "point and shoot".

They hook up very well. Wet or dry. I put some random foams (from RC4WD 2.2 TTC Bajas, I think) and she loved how easy the rig was to drive.
