| Solid axle Ultra4 build
Built this from the used Wraith I got when we were in the hotel. Did the Exo graft on the rear end with Integy rear shocks. Pro-line Powerstrokes for Slash front on the front. Dynamic Concepts Rubicon body pieces are being used up front. I'll be making side panels. Power will come from the Novak Timbuk2 with the 13.5 turn Novak motor that came with the rig. Wheels are the RC4WD Predators that young_version gave me for the IFS build and the tires are Pro-Line TSLs that were mounted on Integy beadlocks when I bought the rig. A little Simple Green and they look almost new. Anyway, it's a start. |

Primed and painted a set of Ultimate inner fenders from Carter Fab and Machine. I also did lots of work on panels today. |

This lil' dude has been showing up every night as of late. Normal to have these guys here in Hawaii, but this lil' dude will come on the bench while I'm working. For the past three nights. Local guys say I should name him and he'll watch over the house. Guardian God. So I guess I'll call him Ralph, or Lalepa. When I tried to take pictures of him he came toward me and jumped on my phone. Took him outside the garage, put him down, and he came back to me. Yes. After the cage mod you have to go to AX10 length shocks and mount them on the outside of the lower shock mounts. Look at my IFS build thread to see what happens when you have only the Wraith shocks on the rear. | |

Got all of the cage work done on this rig. Everything is now bonded with adhesive and I made the compression brace that spans the lower joint. Notice the use of the forward portion of the Wraith top cage. This allows the removal of the two front screws and you can hinge the top cage section out of the way. Word of the day is tired. Started at 8 this morning. DTP came over and got his running. It's slow with a 7-turn puller. I also scored DTP's TTC tires. (thanks, dude) Now I just need a certain rig to put them on. Young_version made progress on his - mostly cosmetic stuff. His should be running soon. Last night I made side panels to go along with the Dynamic Concepts Rubi panels then shot them with Pactra's metallic blue, backed with silver, then sprayed the flares with black. Cut the mask from the flares and dulled them with a 3M pad. Used duct tape on the back of each panel to protect the paint from abrasion against the frame. Time to add some random decals and maybe some lights. DTP swung by last night and worked on his IFS rig. It's niiiice with the AX2 and Pro4. |
