Default Project "Chopped Crawler" Cutting the FAT off a Wraith

Started a 2nd Wraith build this past weekend. I swapped out my sons stock Wraith cage for the Carter Fab cage I was running for a while and now I am going to take a stab at chopping up a Wraith cage to re-style it and cut the over all size down. This build I am going for more a strict crawler direction now that I have project "ExWraith'O" getting a brushless power plant, that will be my fast rig.

So on with a couple pics of what I am doing to the cage:

Stock cage -

Going to lower the height of the cage alittle to give it a better look -

I didn't get much for pics while chopping it up as I didn't have a certain direction as I went, I just crossed my figures I was not going to waste a cage . I'll take a couple pics later today to post how it looks currently.

Thanks for following

Nick

Updated cage pics:

I am going to mount a EXO rear tail light set up and see how I can finish off the way I bring the tail section together. I am planing on chopping the front down also so it will balance out alittle better on how the cage looks.

OK...I might be missing something. But where are you going to mount the rear shocks? Or did you get a little to happy with The trimming of the fat??LOL

Yeap, those are the bars you made for me

I have ExWraith'O cage off so I figured I toss the Chopped Crawler cage on the drivetrain to take a look at how it's looking.

Here is a update on this build:

I am planning on running a light bar but for now I put a light cage on it to look at my lines, also ran a EXO rear light box. I am thinkig it will need flat door panels because the V panels kinda look out of place. Maybe this CarterFab member guy can whip me up something sweet looking for panels .

I will be out of town on bussiness till the beginning of the month so there will not be much on this because I don't want to rush it and wish I had done something different.

Thanks for checking out the build, I am open to idea and or suggestions.

Nick

We can definitely whip up some panels for this thing.

LOL, trim the fat as in the Wraith cage was alittle "Fat" big for my taste or look I wanted to see. I got some time over the weekend to do alittle more work to the rear. I will get a update pic up tomorrow.

Update pics,

I finished up the rear of the cage and put all the running gear this rig will be running. I will post a full break down of everything once I have the upgrade list finished.

I am about to start putting together a set of Gmade XD piggybacks 103mm, question for others running those shocks, what have you found to be a good starting point on shock weight. I think I may start with a 30-40wt. I will be running some light tenders and mid mains. Using the ProLine dual rate spring set up.

For a winch, either spend the money and get a Quicksand or CLAW winch or get the always trusty servo winch that is easily hidden. You can get both the CLAW and servo winch from Locked Up RC. I have both. Only been runnin the CLAW so far in Southern Comfort and love it. Especially the free spool feature.

Clay or anyone else, I am also looking at another set of wheels, thinking of the new VP wheels or open to something with that off road scale look like a Walker Evens look, any suggestions? I am waiting for a set of PitBull2's so I want to be ready when they show up.
