These VWS wheels are 100x faster to mount than Axial's 8-hole beadlocks - what a nice surprise! All four are mounted and ready to go.

Here's just a preview of how it will look...

Well I have to say, Bill (BGR Fabrications) is a badass! He welded and shipped both my BGR Trailbar and Rear Shock Tower on the 30th and they arrived today! Just in time for the weekend!

Check these beauties out! Just so happen to have my Kong Shackles already, too!

No - won't be ready. I'm swamped at work and have to work late tonight, hang with the girl tomorrow night and work some on Saturday.

Plan on getting some of the Slick 50 grease Harley recommended at the auto parts store tonight and getting to work on the axles. With my OCD, that should keep me occupied for quite a while...

Not sure yet. Kayo is leaving that day for an audit so we may do breakfast and hang. I'll be around all night Sunday if you wanted to do a night run. I'll just be drinking Monsters and working on the Wraith until I have to work Monday.

Just pulled the trigger on two Hot Racing lockers. Should have ordered them with everything else, now I'm not going to be able to get my axles built until this Wednesday at least.

Oh well, you live and you learn. Still have the transmission and electronics to mess with.

Are you getting a new ESC or are you sticking to the stock ESC? Will the Holmes motor work with the stock ESC?

I've got a BR-XL sitting right here.

The Holmes Hobbies motors will work with the stock AE-2 ESC as far as I know, you'll just need to modify the plugs on the ESC to 4mm bullets.

nice build, kinda courious why you didnt start with the kit instead of the rtr looks as if you've replaced it all anyway also youve almost have enough spares for a second wraith!!

Great question! I went with the RTR because the price difference just didn't make sense to me between the Kit and RTR. I got an entire 2.4GHz radio, AE-2 ESC, servo and decent motor for only about $90 more. The ESC itself is worth $75 and with my OCD, it would take me months to put the kit together.

Trust me though, I thought long and hard about the Kit vs RTR and the RTR just seemed to make more sense for me.

For those of you getting into this for the first time, I would highly suggest the Kit version, as it forces you to get intimately acquainted with your new truck. Part of me wishes I had done the kit, simply because I am still slightly intimidated to start taking things apart on it.

So I have the tranny in pieces and while test fitting the spur, I noticed the one I got from Robinson Racing will not mount up to the stock slipper unit. Holes simply don't line up at all.

This is the one I got - did I miss something? Is there another one I should get?

This one, perhaps?

And so, the build begins...

Stock plastic idler gear versus the Robinson Racing idler gear and Fast Eddy bearings...

Light coat of marine grease and bam, onto the bottom gear...

Bottom drive done, a little more marine grease and a few more Fast Eddy bearings later...

Put a few globs of grease on the gears, twisted it all for a few minutes to get the grease distributed and put the case back together...

Smooth as glass and beefy as hell. Now that I see just how easy this is, this is a must do for all transmissions. My Honcho is next!

Once I get my spur gear dilemma figured out, the TrailMaster, spur and pinion will be going on and this puppy will be going back in the Wraith.

Then it's onto the axles as soon as my Hot Racing SHD Lockers arrive on Wednesday (hoping RPP gets them out tomorrow).

Oh, and for those of you who know me, you'll appreciate just how messy I can actually get when building...

It didn't last long though.

Great to know! I've actually been doing some IT work for him recently. Super nice dude just looking to help the R/C community and providing some badass parts while he's at it.
