I don't think it'd be an issue as long as both ends are on the same side.

Jake's Performance Hobbies in Rohnert Park. They have tons of crawler stuff and they are open from 10-7 everyday but Sunday.
Their prices are killer to. They don't do a ton of online sales, mostly because they are good enough to not have to rely on it.
The owner is an active member of the local crawler club.

There is also a hobby town 20 miles south, but I've always thought of them as a joke. And their prices are ridiculous.
I agree about HobbyTowns. The owner of the one I've gone to is a real douchebag too.

So it looks like some vp wheels and hubs are in our near future huh?
It's the rod end on my drag link that is rubbing. The tie rod is just fine where it is. Crazy how similar setups can have such different geometry.

Hopefully these hexes will work out. Turns out I PMd the wrong JFab.

Trying that again now.

How much wider (in mm) do you think it needs to be?
Also, you don't really notice the width difference on the traxxas hexes, they only add about 4mm per side at most.

4mm should be plenty. I could even trim the rod end a little bit and it should clear. I obviously want to avoid that, though.

I will probably just go with the Traxxas hexes. I think they are in stock at my LHS. Would be a cheap test.

What's strange is the driver side, which doesn't rub at all, seems to have a very high camber angle for some reason. I verified all is installed correctly. Could be an illusion given the angle the c-hubs have to them. I'm going to check it out more tonight.

Thanks for all the help/input gents!

Compare your camber by setting a book on a table next to each wheel.

Ring gear position. The RTRs have the ring gear on the driver's side and VP's smooth diff covers are designed with the ring gear on the passenger's side. I elected to just flip the diff covers to keep the gears in the factory position.

I have no experience with the kits, but according to Rob at VP, the kits come with the ring gears on the passenger's side, which I guess is what they modeled their diff covers after.

My OCD may get the better of me and I may end up flipping everything. We shall see.

If you have any other questions just let me know!
