Fink's Wraith Wraith just arrived yesterday and my other parts should be in early next week. I will be updating this thread as often as possible to chronicle the build. My goal for the Wraith is for it to be a very capable crawler, but also able to bash/rock race when I feel like it. I typically take it very easy on my trucks but I obviously do have the need for speed occasionally. I normally run on wooded trails with a lot of water and mud so I wanted to stick with a simple brushed setup and of course everything will be water-resistant. I like the simplicity of brushed and quite honestly, I'm confident enough in my knowledge of brushless to go with it yet. I also love Holmes Hobbies' motors and wanted to stick with them as I have had great luck with the TorqueMaster Pro in my SCX10. Onto the good stuff... Re: Fink's Wraith Worked from home today and finally had the chance to at least get the Wraith unboxed. Yes, it's a standard Wraith, but I'm excited... http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...xing001-XL.jpg http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...xing002-XL.jpg http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...xing003-XL.jpg Finkhttp://cfink.smugmug.com/photos/i-Lg...-LgFpTrs-M.gif |

Re: Fink's Wraith Nice parts collection! I just got my order from Vanquish too. The quality is definitely top notch. |

That just means I have three deliveries on Monday and two on Tuesday. Then it's just picking a battery and maybe a spare servo from HobbyPartz. Thanks for the post! Finkhttp://cfink.smugmug.com/photos/i-Lg...-LgFpTrs-M.gif |
Re: Fink's Wraith nice! can you give a comparison between the stock 20t motor and the holmes? speed be slightly slower I guess? more torque? |
Re: Fink's Wraith Quote:
I haven't run Holmes' TrailMaster in the Wraith yet, but yes, more torque and control. Just an entirely different class than the stock 20t. Once I get it installed in the Wraith and give it a test, I'll be sure to let everybody know how it does. Finkhttp://cfink.smugmug.com/photos/i-Lg...-LgFpTrs-M.gif |
Re: Fink's Wraith Today was a big day for deliveries. Can't wait to see what my girlfriend says when I carry all this into our condo... http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...ades002-XL.jpg http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...ades004-XL.jpg http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...ades003-XL.jpg http://cfink.smugmug.com/RC/Vehicles...ades005-XL.jpg Axle housings and a few other little things should be here tomorrow and tires and wheels on Wednesday or Thursday. Will be ordering my batteries as soon as they are back in stock and I should be set! Finkhttp://cfink.smugmug.com/photos/i-Lg...-LgFpTrs-M.gif |
