Default 12.5" Wheelbase 2.2 Wraith

Has anyone shortened the WB on their Wraith? I'm in the process of doing this. I had a bunch of leftover all thread and SS tubing so I made an extra set of short links. Still using the AR60 axles and 2.2 wheels/tires. It's in mock up stage right now and it looks pretty good and really brings it into a more scale look. I'll post some pictures when I get the chance.

WB ended up at 12.75". The front could still be shorter but would take more modifications to the front for the servo to clear the chassis. Suspension flex is the same as with the stock WB. Looks good in person and when the new 2.2 Pitbulls show up should make for a good combo.

I never did measure the WB out of the box. Anyone know that number?

Thanks!

I had to adjust the pinion angle so it ended up 12.5" like I planned, so it's just a tad shorter than in the picture. Getting the links the correct length was a major pain. I had nothing to reference since I was going with custom lengths. For some reason, cutting the length by the same amount on upper and lower links didn't work. The pinion angle was way out of whack.

Took it for a quick test and broke something in the tranny. It was already making noise before the mod. At least now I have an excuse to go all steel gears.

Looks good. I never liked that body much with the stock wheelbase, but it looks great shortened.

I'm actually building mine around the DC Rubicon body. Should look good when its' done.

Those both look great! How much length did you guys take out of the front and rear lower links?

Because the lengths are different and it's a ratio of upper to lower length. Time for RRP complete gear set!

Not 12.5", but mine is currently sitting at 13.25" and with a tummy tuck, which brings the rear tire flush with the rear of the truck.

Looks pretty sweet but wanting to mount a 12.3" wheelbase Raptor body on the wraith. Not looking for the monster truck look and want to get it as close to 12.3 as possible. Seemed like 12.5" would work fine. Guess I'll just figure it out and try making some links.

Cool!

One thing I like the shorten wheelbase was because it has many body to choose from. wish I know( The skills ) on how to do it. I especially like the China Jeep body or Axial jeep Rubicon body.

Do you have measurements for those shortened links? I'm looking to pull my wheelbase in, so it's a bit more scale-ish to the body's wheel arches.
