first basher build. current vids and pics.

Been into helis and planes. Figured it is time for a wraith.

The 4600 kv sv2 system is free so im going to try it. Im interested in 2200 motors. Id like to run this as kinda basher racer type.

Anyways here she is

Re: first basher build.

This is the other project ive got going.
Ive had it about 5 years. It was a 83k5. The sheet metal became mangled over the years so its tube time.

This is the stance I'm after. Arms just about level. Loiky at buggy shocks or building upper shock mounts.

You can flip your rear shock mounts and use four 1/4" spacers under the front upper mounts and remove the top bars from it. Also you can flip the lower mounts on the axles will get you to where you need to be.

Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a try

Re: first basher build.

Dialing in ride height with buggy shocks. Ride height is now lower then stock shocks. Shock mounts are still stock.

I almost gave up on the buggy shocks then started researching oils and valveing then I tried a few things and ride height started getting closer to what I want.

Electronics are fired up. All that's left is to glue rubber. A noticed the body panels aren't cut out ;(

Crawled around the garage with 4600 motor on 2cell and its not bad at all. Threw a tire
Here's a few pics before it breaks. I've got some 2 piles in the horse pasture so may get some bashing bid later

whoa that fresh white looks good.

this is how she sits now, back to stock shocks, hr lockers installed bigger motor, and copped the frame and fabbed a few custom things.

my motor decided that metal tranny gears are necesary
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps952c995c.jpg

aswell as some upgraded lockers. these are hot raceing lockers that should have been named spools
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...psc79b7ab7.jpg

i have roughly about 100 dollars worth of upgrades over the stock wraith and man it seems to be 100 well spent shes now not braking near as as often and im running paddles with 5 and 6s lipos.
ive manged to not drop a dime on aluminum exterior axle parts

the wraith is awesome

Re: first basher build.

its been along time comeing as ive broke about 4 or 6 plastic servo horns and to hold true to my budget building this is a 3 dollar servo horn from hobbyking. also orderd the turnigy tools and some airplane prop adapters to make shipping weight total order was 15 bucks.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps000f52e2.jpg

though cheap i realy dont see breaking this servo horn. now that i know this horn works ill probly order a handfull of them for use on planes and my helis

Re: first basher build.

What motor are you running?

evan03 03-20-2013 09:23 PM

Re: first basher build.

turnigy 2100kv 1/8 scale motor.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/u...pse236ec62.jpg
in the begining i was running the sv2 4600 system

this is kinda what i had in mind for wraith from the get go but it took awhile to get all the ducks in a row to make it happen. this vid is on 6s and is with no breakage the motor on 6 makes way way more power then the wraith was ever meant to handle but it handles the sand like hot rod v8 handles in the water with high pich prop.
watch in hd
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qTU2YqMXyxw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
ive also just started to be able to make some runs on high voltage with no breakage. there for awhile i was breaking parts if id put more then a 3s battey onboard.

I'll be posting up some sandy wraith videos here shortly! I'm liking those paddles. My ripsaws did pretty well though.
