Default Alright... So I'm torn (motor)

I'm sure most of you in this forum have seen my wraith... I've had it since day one of RTR launch. Thinking im not a noob at this point, but then I start thinking about motors and it would seem I AM in fact noobtastic.

So I was pretty sold on the MMP and Pro4 set up. But living in Colorado Springs, I find myself driving through some pretty gnarly shit. I know there's not a brushed motor that can touch the pro4 for straight speed... But I am building this guy up as a TTC competitor for next June...... Mud, snow, grime, dust and dirt are definitely on the menu.

Ok, rambling. Should I get a MMP and Pro4 combo or should I rock the AE2 and pick up a Holmes TrailMaster? Is there a brushed set up that will give me even close to the wheel speed of the pro4? My drivetrain is prepped for abuse so that's not an issue. Just need a new power plant. What do I do?

I have the cash for either I just can't pull the trigger! I'm torn. I need guidance!

Waterproof a Pro4, get a Tekin RS Pro, or a Mamba Pro, waterproof them, and go for it! You will not regret it!

There is this:

Pro4 motor:

Disassembled and sprayed the sensor board with 3 coats of conformal coating. Reassembled. After soldering on the motor wires I put a bead of electronics safe silicone between the case and wires and around the sensor plug receptacle. I also plugged the extra threaded holes (where the motor bolts to the motor plate) with 3mm plugs with blue loctite.

RS Pro:

Removed case and sprayed with 3 coats of conformal coating. Reassembled. Installed the sensor wire with a dab of dielectric grease. Dipped in plastidip. Ziptied sensor wire bundle together, motor wires and + - together and plastidipped again.

I have all the other electronics in a waterproof box and are sealed up.

As you can see by the video, it seems to be pretty waterproof! The day before this I actually had it in water over the roof....all you could see was the headlights underwater .
And if you do a search in the electronics section there are a few threads on it.

I run a mmp and pro 4. You will never go wrong with a mamba max pro! It will do damn near anything. If you can get the pro 4 waterproof your set. Mine will crawl as slow as I want and go as fast I need it to

I'm having the the problem you are, I want to keep the motor/esc as cheap as possible though being that I don't crawl much ( Only in the winter when racing seasons out.

Cheap is not too hard to do. You get what you pay for. There is no secret to getting Pro4 power for Integy prices
