| Servos, what are you running?
What's everybody running? I was looking at the hitec 7955tg and the 7954sh. They both have 333 oz. at 6 volts. I'm also gonna be using a castle bec.

For the Wraith I'd say 7954 is the minimum I'd run. I've had good success with mine so far. But I'd recommend the 7950. Only reason I bought the 7954 was because of my budget. If you can afford it buy the 7950, if not then go with the 7954. the 7955 isn't enough for the wraith. IMHO the wraith needs a minimum of a 400oz servo.

Well maybe I should spend more and get the 7950... I figured 300oz plus would be sufficient but maybe not for crawling

For crawling, no. If you want a quality high torque servo, buy the 7950 and don't worry about it for a long time. If you happen top strip a gear or burn up a motor, even though it's highly unlikely HighTec will, fix or replace it for free during the warranty period and cheap of free even after the warranty is up. |

Hitec is the only way to go imo.. the smallest I run is 333oz tg in my scaler on 1.9's.. It's lacking at times as is.. then again I run a 7950 in a mrc an 7980 in my xr.. never an issue an lots of abuse! 7950 is for best results in every direction.. for any rig. |

Glad to see a savox 1230 user ;) I'll upgrade to the 1230 when funds permit. Savox in my opion makes damn fine affordable power full and reliable servos. My nitro helicopter is loaded with savox servos that are about 2 years old with hundreds of use.. they're species at 6 volts but I fly them at 8.5. Looked forward to trying the new HV 1268s as well as the 1230 for the wraith. Read this thread as some savox users come out of the wood work. Also keep in mind the savox 1230 is about half the cost of comparable hitechs. Hitec 7950 Vs Savox SA 1230SG Last edited by evan03; 02-09-2013 at 03:22 PM. |
