Tekin ROC 412 crawler motor what is the best esc to run with it.

What would be the best esc to run with this motor. I want a crawler esc and water proof if posible but it dose not have to be. I was thinking about geting the tekin FX-R pro.

I'd get either a MMP or Tekin RS. My personal preference is the MMP. It can run any motor you want and is 6s lipos capable. IMO its the best do everything esc there is.

dose the mmp have a drag break. also my motor is sensored.

MMP is a do all esc. The Tekin RS is a nice esc as well, has a smaller footprint than the MMP. If you have a CastleLink, I'd go with the MMP. Yes, it has drag brake features and will work with a sensored motor.

Also what do you all think about the motor was it worth the 150 i payed for it. its a tekin roc 412 2300 kv brushless sensored motor 4 pole 12 slot high torque.

MMP all tha way. That wAt i run and its perfect. And they can be found used for a really good price... U can use tha money u save not gettin the RS to replace broken partz The best set up for the wraith IMO. And i have tested MANY. Hope this helps. Later

I run a mmp and a tekin pro4 from what I have read the roc 412 is very similar. I'm planning on ordering one for my son's wraith once he wears out the stock brushed motor. I don't think you can go wrong with the combo. I run 32p gears with 58/11 gearing and it barely gets warm and is smooth as glass down low.

dont think im going to break much got about everything done to it that i can to make it reliable all hardened steel gears throughout aluminum trans case mip driveshafts and a ton of other things.

thats good to hear that it is smooth down low that is really what i am looking for. but i do want some wheel speed to get me up the hills.

shit man your good to go... i have the 3300 or watever kv it is and its SICK... i keep the MMP set on low pretty much all the time, med is almost uncontrolable how fast it is.. high, well i dont know and cant imagine.. looks good!

Run it on a 3S lipo. That will get you some wheel speed.

Thats the combo I run.

You can change ther throttle curve in the Castle link software to make the first half of the trigger very smooth. The last half of the throttle will do backflips.

I am running the MMP with a ROC412 2300kv, stock gearing on 2s. Had a 35T brushed and the ROC412 crawls better and has more wheel speed than the stock motor. I have no problem getting up steep dirt hills now.

im not sure hell be doing backflips with the 2300kv motor but will have pretty damn decent wheel speed with 3s and still a jogging pace on 2s.

i run a 2100kv motor and on 2s the stock rtr wraith is just a tiny bit faster.

i think id leave the throttle curve alone dont want it feeling mushy anywhere. however with alot of power ontap might tune in some punch control. im running 50% on my punch control to keep from twisting the wraith in half

I'm running 12/58 with the 3100 and it's perfect on 2s. On 3s it will pull a wheelie and ride it for about 15 feet. I have upgraded my rear driveshaft, but pretty sure the gears in the tranny will let go first.

well i got it all put together and it is perfect crawles great and plenty of wheel speed on 2s for me and the toque is crazy and i finely have drag break.

Just picked up my MMP & 3100 from the post office this morning. I've been curious about running 3s on it. Couldn't really find any good videos. I've upgraded the trans gears to HR steel ones, HR spools, overdrive and stock ratio hardened diff gears. Ordered and on the way are a Gen3 slipper, SuperShafty top shaft, MIPs, biggin69's Beef Toobs. Oh and I picked up some Traxxas bushings to strengthen the diff pinion gears by taking some stress off the bearing. I've kinda sparred no expense on this build. Now I'm just waiting for SuperShafty to release his new motor plate to the public. Lol

Cool thing is the curve is easily adjustable. I got to thinking and it might not hurt to make a linear curve that tops out at 75-80% this would mellow out the entire throttle range. If you try something its no big deal.

May also play with punch control to tame wheelies or tune for riding wheelies ;)
