Mig wire is perfect for that! That's how I learned how to tig and I will stick with it! Gloves while tigging is way too awkward unless you use the nitrile gloves!

once you get use to using it - you never want to use any filler rod over 1/16" Egan,
you get a lot more wire on a roll & takes way less heat to use.
.035 mig works great !
Huh?! I'll have to try some .035 wire, I've got a couple of spools in the cabinet. Thanks Jerry

I'm definitely not a health and safety inspector, but I do wear gloves or I should say glove. I use bare hand on the torch side and a glove on my filler hand/holder hand. I use BSX extreme flame resistant TIG gloves. Thin enough to work with filler and small parts but takes heat pretty good. Now if they would only sell the left glove by itself, I'd be stoked. Anyone need some slightly used right hand only gloves?

I use the same one handed method you use except for that I'm left handed so I am only using right handed gloves. So how much you asking?

Harley thanks for the blueprints for this one. Just 1 question did you set the blueprints for 3/16 tube or rod? Thanks again you're making my next build a little easier with this

The bend radii are 0.5" with may be a little tight for tube. I work with rod for the most part.

Sorry Man...
But seriously you need to wear TWO gloves trust me...I wear Miller Long Cuff TIG gloves. Pretty Cheap at about $22 excellent glove and I have gotten pretty close to the leather with the torch and they faired really well.

Don't follow too closely, I sold it to another member who has a fullsize version of the chassis

Quick question, any chance you still have the plans available to print to a plotter? I just realized we've got one here at the office i can use rather than cutting and taping up the letter sized templates

Reviving an old thread but have a question....I just started on this chassis using silver solder and 3/16 solid rod. Can this chassis, as it’s drawn out use the skid and drivetrain from a bomber instead of the wraith? Wish this one was finished but it’s still an inspiration

Thanks
