Hmmmm, I might just bite the bullet. I'm not overly convinced on it yet from the videos I've seen but I may have to see for myself.

Got mine on the way. Went with the V8BB Version (no gear changes). I'll get some info up when I receive it.

Good call. The others could either be ferraris or crotch rockets... LOL That would make for an odd sounding crawler.

II meant because there is 2 V8 versions. On is the V8BB which is just a straight V8 sound through the revs. The other one is the V8SC or something. That one has gear changes as you go through the revs. The V12 was not on my radar

I got that. The other V8 (with the shifting) is really high pitched. It doesn't sound anything like a rock crawler should. That's all I was pointing out. That, and that you picked the one I would have picked.

Ahh, I didn't really even get that far into it. Just didn't like the idea of gears and moved on.

That is cool indeed! Imagine it would need a small box or tube to get deep-ish sound. Straight speaker would sound tinny.

Be a shame if the V12 version fell into my 1/10 Ferrari.

Yup, that was my plan. Depending on what build it falls into I may fab up a small styrene enclosure for it. Calculating airspace for a 2" speaker will be new for me I used to be a big car audio guy, this should be fun!

A buddy of mine had the original Tamiya sound module in his truck....it was cool for about 10 min....then we asked him to shut it off...it gets annoying...I would rather spend that extra cash on beer!

The idle on the v8sc was neat, but then went down hill. Sounds like a poor video game impression.
