Tower lists it the same as the "old" RTR.

My honest opinion, the original RTR looks 10x better.

These kits are marked way up anyway, I bet it costs Axial peanuts to make these. They are made in Korea. I think. Cheap labour = high profits for Axial or any other company using foreign factories.

So making them slightly different probably didn't cost them jack!! Just my opinion.

I kinda felt the same way. Seems they just changed a few Minor things to change things up and boost sales. Only thing different performance wise is the tires and who knows how they work yet.

I know right.
I think the purple part should have been orange, and then the yellow part yellow but a different kind of yellow and then make it plastic.

That would have been more cooler and stuff.

We all would have done something different that's why ours all are.

I wonder if these wheel fasteners back off the nuts like the original? The rig looks like it will sell. Any body know when these will hit the market ? Im gunna order one. I really like the new beadlock idea. Maybe 1.9 axial?????????????? Along with the big tires in 1.9s ........... Hint ..... Hint... Axial could you do the wheels in 1.9 instead of the glue on stuff? And the bfgs in 1.9 also.

Finally had time to read the article. They did a pretty good job mimicking the 1:1. I think they should have done the fastback cage and spare like the 1:1 though. That being said, that should be the first mod anyone does (cosmetically) if they get one!!!

After examining the body closer, I'm thinking that a hinged hood isn't completely out of the question with the one piece body panel. I'm sure it's going to be done.

The tires are pretty darn rad. They look an awful lot like the RC4WD Rock Crushers, only with wider, and with better lug spacing. I don't suppose it was ever a secret where the Rock Crusher drew it's inspiration from. I'm assuming, AND HOPING, that the composition of the tire is nice and gooey. That could possibly throw them into contention with the Pit Bull Rock Beast II's. It's a long shot, but you never know. I can't wait to get my hands on a set to try them out.

I also took a harder look at the body, I think as long as it hugs the tube chassis like the original RTR than it could be cut and made to work. May have to eliminate the front flares to make the sides fit like the original as well and it would not be to difficult.

However with the front flares how they are is what has sold me on the body.
Maybe it could be done with just the hood opening and not the entire grille.

Just my thoughts.

Looking at pics on axial's site it appears that it does hug the cage in the rear. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367516601.717321.jpg

This pic is small, but the full size version is on the product page. Anyway looking at the rear you can see that the body follows the rear cage lines just past the seat.

You can see the body crease here too Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367516745.350730.jpg

Am I missing something? It looks like all they changed is the body, wheels, and tires.

So why are so many getting a hard on to run out and buy one? Yeah the wheels are cool, but they are still all plastic. I could live without the body. Gotta wait for the tire report to see if they're any good.
