Default Make Wraith More Crawl-able?

Hey guys, new here.
I was just wondering what I can do to make my wraith more crawl-able. Cheap mods or upgrades. Not wanting to spend a lot of hoopla to get it there :P
Thanks guys.

I'd start HERE and see what best fits what you plan to do and then ask question about what choices you are planning.

Good bead lock rims. Sticky tires. Lower the ride height. Get weight bias forward(Move battery location to front most important). Good solid suspension and steering links. Strong reliable servo. Quality brushed motor. Holmes BRXL esc. Steel tranny gears. All steel drive shafts.

That's a good start. I've done all that and more over time and I love the capability of mine. It's more fun on the rocks than my AX-10 ever was. Your wallet won't feel so empty if you don't do it all at once.

Lower your ride height down by flipping the shock mounts = free.
Change to a 87 tooth spur = $8
Cut and groove the ripsaw tires = free.
Move your battery to the front = free.

This will make it a very capable crawler.

Thanks wild man! Cutting the tires...is that removing ever other tread? And would a 90 tooth be good?

I realize I'll have to drop some coin into this. I just got a job so hopefully the steady income won't make me notice my wallet shrinking!

Yeah pretty much every other lug or tread. I'm not sure if a 90 tooth would fit. It may if you leave the cover off.

Here is how I cut my tires.

What would I use to cut that accurately? Just a small cut off wheel on a dremel?

Free stuff I did for pure crawling:
Cut my Ripsaws. The white dot/R35 Ripsaw are WAY better than the RTR versions. I got lucky with my used Wraith. It came with them. I just used a small set of wire cutters. Doesnt have to be pretty. I also shaved my sidewalls with a grinder. Easy. Once again, doesnt have to be pretty. I made a boo-bbo on one. Used some liquid electriacl tape to patch the hole.
I flipped my front and rear lower shock mounts. I flipped the upper, rear shock mount.
Remove interior and seats. I traded mine for a set of HB Sedonas which I now run with Crawler Innovations foams

Cheap stuff:
Soft springs. 10wt shock oil. 87/14 gears. Or go for 90/14

I just got a holmes Hobby Torquemaster Sport. 45T. Only cost $40 It's awesome.

BEST mod I've done for crawling improvement was a set of XR10 Wheels. The internal weights and the option for bullet weights will instantly make your Wraith do stuff it never could before. I still run my battery in the rear and this thing climbs like a MF!
