| Newb Wraith 1st time poster, long time lurker. My son and I built this one. Pretty mild build, but plan to upgrade parts as we break them. Sorry for the bad cell phone pics. Maiden run went pretty well. So basic specs: Tekin Gen2 redline 13.5 Mamba max pro Savox 1230g servo Flysky gt3c(saved a few bucks here). Really want the 4pl, but saving up. Castle BEC(#2 ordered...smoked #1 with reverse polarity 3s hookup) I have 2s and 3s batteries. **** Forward battery mount. Fabbed an aluminum mounting plate in the back for the esc. **** lowering kit. **** crawler kit(outboard lower shock mounts and softer front springs) 32 pitch gears(not installed yet...stock ratio) Also added cheap axial roxster beadlocks. This is my(our) first RC car. Always wanted one, and was into rc planes many years ago. Last night was the first night my son didn't mention xbox in many moons. Everyone in these forums gave us the ideas we have put in place so far so thanks everyone. Only problem we have is reverse is really sketchy. the esc gives me a red light, so getting a signal, but the car only goes into reverse sporadically. I did have to reverse channel 1 and 2 to get it to run correctly. However. it crawls well and with 3s i will have to set the dual rate on the steering as she doesn't like to stay straight on the speed runs. Sorry for the blurry cell phone pics. 1st is w/o electronics, 2nd is without the lowering kit, but flipped the lower link mounts, 3rd with lowering kit and all the electronics buttoned up. |

Nice build. You're probably have your ESC set to brake reverse as opposed to crawler reverse. I believe that's the stock setting so you have a delay between reverse if you get a castle link and plug it into your computer you will be able to change it over to crawler reverse and get instant reverse. |

Thanks for the props and advice. I still have to program the BEC and ESC. Have the castle link, just need to download the software and get after it. |
