Handling is fine for what it is. It didn't handle poorly before with the speed of the stock motor. It needs new shocks and I am debating on where in my schedule I am going to account for that. My biggest concern is trying to get enough money in the "bank" to be able to buy a good servo without having to skip a week of upgrades.

This build has been a lot of fun for me so far. It's cool to get back to running a truck stock and upgrading slowly. Bringing a lot of the old memories and excitement back.

cheap knock off servo but reviews seams like its pretty good. I should be having one delivered tomorrow and I'll let you know my first impressions when I get it. should be way better then stock and well under your weekly budget.

I litterally just sold that same servo off in the For Sale section. Not the worst servo ever, but I will be going with a higher end Futaba servo.

Likely a Futaba S9157 which retails around $120-130. 425 oz/in of torque, 0.14 sec transit time, fully waterproof, etc.

Servos are a tricky deal, specs can be deceiving and there are lots of options. I just say people should buy the best they can afford when it comes to a servo. Bargin hunting usually leaves you with a bargin servo. If you spend more, you usually get more.

417 ounce/in for $17.50? I don't think so

If you buy big body clips you can cut your own hex pins and make them long enough to fill the slot. There is less force from the pin to the hex due to larger radius of the pin. tau=rxF

With the small amount of power this 20t motor is putting out compared to the setups I normally run, this was going to happen soon enough that this needed to be done IMO. The slightly increased surface area was not going to stop that.

I run the truck pretty hard, trying to break something in order to pick the next upgrade. I wasn't expecting the hubs to be the issue, I was guessing an idler gear before that really.

Will you be going with a chassis mounted servo? What are the pro and con on a chassis mounted servo setup?

Eventually I will definitely be going to the CMS & Panhard kit. But it will wait a little bit for budget reasons.

The CMS kit is for appearance reasons with getting the servo out of view. If you don't care about scale looks than you don't need it.

The solar servos dont last at all. I thought I would give them a try, and they only lasted a few packs before the lash on the gears was too much to stand.

Harley I think its time for you to try the hxt 10kg from hobby king and run it on 7.5volts

This would really lightn the load on the budget. Maybe just as a shits and grins kinda thing

HXT 10kg Servo (metal gear) 55g / 10kg / .16sec (USA Warehouse)

An $8 servo is going to act like an $8 servo, no way. Best case scenario, it's twice as good as it's priced... you still have a crap servo!

If there is a budget, why spend money twice? Even if the gears didn't crunch the first time you used it, it would still only have 1/3 the torque you need in a wraith.

Servo's will be a huge item of debate, this is for sure!

Lots of people use cheap servos. Over my many years in this hobby I have found the true value in spending the money once in the correct places, servos at the top of that list.

i agree with that statement but also believe you can find a good long lasting servo for less then 100$

I'm now running a savox 1268 on 6 volts and it crawls pretty dang well. Bought it because it also work well on planes and helix which I also do.

I would love the 1283.

I've ran that hxt 10kg and never had a failure however I did brake a servo case while cartwheeling the wraith down the asphalt.

These servos also work well as servo winches

I can't really run it at night because it's really hard to see in front of the truck in the dark.

I have two questions Harley. Do you have a picture of where you mounted the BEC at? Also why do you need a set of 12mm Hexes when you install a set of VP 475 SLW hubs? Could you not use the stock set?

Ill have to grab a picture, I don't even remember where I put it.

The PSC Wraith does now come with hexes. It uses a pin drive in plastic hubs.
