Harley's $50 Poison Spyder Wraith Budget Build

This isn't a budget build in the traditional use of the term. What I am doing for this build is setting aside a budget of $50 a week. I'll be upgrading as I see fit or as parts break. If parts break then those will have to come out of the budget for that week. Any budget not used during that week gets carried over to the next week, make sense?

Now I started this process 3 weeks ago already, so we have a little bit to work from already. Each week starts and ends on Thursday. I am putting a video up at that time (or as close to than as possible).

Took me 25 bucks a week to(some times zero) safe for awraith kit.

50 bucks a week means my Cummins pickup runs out of fuel.

I'd say 30 a week is more realistick. Maybe some weeks the budget can't fix trail damage and takes a few weeks to get it up and running again

Good thread though as 50 bucks a week quickly builds a pretty nice wraith

My metal servo horn was 3 bucks that's when you know your sho;pping to save a buck.

I would also get a 3s battery to shipping would be much better 5 bucks ships some servo arms and a few batteries

$50 a week is high for many. To keep the build moving quickly, doing worthwhile upgrades for much under that is tough. Having to wait a month to put a nice servo on is going to get boring at $30 a week.

Yeah that would suck at 30 a week.

I'm dign the concept and many can afford 50 a week. . I spend half that or better on beer so cut out the beer and its doable.

Cool idea. Very similir to the state of my build at the moment except I picked up some RC4WD Irok tires. I used to have a set of these and they are super sticky.

Did a bunch of running today, wanted to do some side by side testing. While shooting some video I shot a couple slow mo clips. This one was kind of fun!

Thanks for the tip on the drive shafts. MIPs were my next purchase but now I know which ones to buy! Does the pin still fit through the stock outdrives and diff pinions?

I was going to dowel the male drive shaft on my other vehicle. Is dual females better than the dowel?

Are you going to cut the hood to make it easier to get to your battery that you moved forward?

Yes pins fit just fine.

Doweling is fine too but you can't access the screw if you need to service them without cutting them off.

Not sure on the body, I'll be doing something for sure though.
