| weighted wheels, what are you running?
hey guys, went threw a few pages here and didn't notice a section where you discussed the amounts of weight in your wheels. maybe im blind? but Harley seems to have everything covered except weight. I know it has a lot on terrain and personal preference but with enough opinions im sure we could get a guide line and skip a few tests till we find the right set up. I have the rc4wd Irock 2.2 on the stock axial spyder beadlocks with zero in the rears and one wrap of 1/4 oz up front. don't seem to work to well yet. going to try and add another 8 1/4oz to each wheel now. single wrap is 4oz so I should be at 6oz each and maybe wrap the rears for 4 oz each. |

Are your wheels or tires vented any? I personally don't run any weight in my rigs, I did in the past. I remember running 3 in each front and 1 in each rear wheel. You could look into some foam tuning or different foams.

thank you for the reply. yes im running three holes in front and rear. tires seem to be getting a little softer for sure every time I go for a run (there pretty new still) I just find the front end could use a little more "weight" to keep front end planted on steep climbs/rock faces. maybe im expecting to much? I know a dig would help a lot in these cases but just not in the budget right now since im saving to go brushless in two weeks.

I don't run any weight in the wheels but do run some knuckle weights on my current rig. Maybe 2 oz per front wheel, thats it. Adding too much weight is just trying to bandaid other issues. Work on suspension tuning and you will likely see some benefits. |
