Anyone know the max rpm of the 3100kv? I'm trying to figure out what my safe operating voltage range will be.

| Re: Holy H*ll!! Roc 412 According to Tekin's website it's rated for 4S max, I think it specifies this on the motor's box as well. Don't quote me though, I don't have the box handy. I run mine on 3S almost exclusively.

4s power is stupid crazy, on 3s with drag brake set at 75% its great. hook the 4s up and it front flips with the same settings. plus it dose not steer very well either, just likes to go straight. kinda wish i never had the option to run 4s as i now have no use for the 4s battery and new charger i had to buy as my other charger only charges up to 3s.

Any good charger will charge up 6s so if one single 4s battery made you upgrade your charger then your better for it. A good charger is a hobby long invest meant. It tells you how much of the fuel tank your using which should never be more then 80% of total may. It us more then a charger its s tool. 4s on 3100 kV would be screaming fast id also suspect it draws lots of amps and probly runs hot. Last edited by evan03; 07-20-2013 at 05:46 PM. |

I bought from us warehouse now its out of stock Turnigy TrackStar 150A 1/8th Scale Brushless Car ESC Been think about buying this 120 a track star sensored ESC Only thing that scares me is drag brake only goes to 30%. The 120 is great! Although the 1900 kv is better suited for it. I run only 15 percent drag brake so thats not a problem for me. Since it doesnt have instant reverse, you can manually use the brake and it holds pretty good. Very, very, slow creep down really steep hills. Also changing from sensorless to sensored, will change your life. Trust me. I have the 1900 kv 1/8 scale turnigy and the 120 esc and have ran it both ways. You can creep way slower with the sensor cable in and the motor wont stall, causing you to roll backwards down the hill.

evan03 i agree with you on the charger is more like a tool, its just that summer is coming to an end sooner then later, and my main passion/hobby is snowmobiling. at the end of last season i decided to strip my sled a part to make more money is sales of parts then selling as a whole. so i need to start putting money aside for the new sled, since its summer i have not sold much from my last sled. what little i sold i spent on new computer and r/c stuff. so now its crunch time for me as the new sled is going to set me back about 8-10 fully built VP wraiths? $15,000 and yes running 4s did make the motor run hot, i have geared it down from a 4:1 pinion spur ratio to a 5.43:1 ratio so this should help a little. right now its 87 spur 16 pinion but i may go down to a 14 pinion which would make it 6.21:1 ratio what are your thoughts on this gearing? i should also note im still running 48 pitch gears |

Ohhhj yes I know the sensor is very much worth it but jnsensored 2100kv is very much crawl able I'm tunning drag brake at 100% in the rocks and zero with high voltage in the sand |

| I know that its crawlable. I mean the amp draw on the 2100kv is more than the 120 can handle (according to the specs listed).

I have no idea amp draw specialy on 2-3s voltage. Would need a amp meter or eagle tree to know for sure. But yes 150 is about as all as you'd want on the 2100kv. The 1900 I've been eyeing as a replacement for my 2100 kV. I have a ton of runtime on it. That and I've had to take it apart and clean sand out of it a few times. Sand is taking its toll on it its got visual sand wear on the inside |
