Servo clearance?
 

I remember reading about it over a year ago with my first wraith but forgot and can't seem to find it. Is there a trick other than buying another BGR bumper that will allow the stock front bumper to clear the servo horn when suspension is compressed?

There is barely enough room in the stock servo plate to drill two new holes to attach the plate to the axle. This allows you to move the servo back about 1/4" and clear everything. You will have to flip the servo so the horn clears the diff cover, and make a new drag link. No contact anywhere throughout the travel.

I feel that the steering geometry actually gets better with the servo moved back.

Servo horn is a cut-down Robitronics one. My drag link is an old upper link from an AX-10 kit, and the tie rod is from R2J.

I've seen someone somewhere add 6mm spacers to the tubes supporting the bumper to move it forward, which would work too. I just couldn't bring myself to reduce the approach angle.

I put some small washers I had laying around behind the bumper where it mounts to the frame. Makes the bumper stick out just a hair further and enough to clear an aluminum servo horn.

I made a new servo plate that moved it back prolly 1/8th". A little hard to see but it works well with my r2j links.

If you're gonna turn the servo over and get a new drag link anyway, you could just drill the holes slightly to the side of and in front of the old holes so that you don't have to move the servo a whole quarter inch backwards.

I just used some spacers that come with the kit. Like knucklebob just use them to push the bumper up a bit.

I shortened the wheelbase a bit at the front :)
