My budget crawler runs with the 1500 dollar rigs and at fraction of that.

Love builds like this

Time for the junkyard wraith to get some attention. So the next step is to stiffen the cage. First the rear section that was already a mess has been cut off. Now the poor man's stuffy kit.

It looks sick with those caution signs for the body.

With the previous total standing at $111 a package of rod ends and 2 pieces of all thread have supplied this difficult keeping it under $10. Bringing it to a total of $120 at this point in time.
I used the drill not only to open the hole for the allthread but to thread it through as well.

#junkyardwraith ready for electronics and panels. Also scored a used wraith interior w/o seats for $5 and yes you see some #cbercfab #shockkeys in there... not a necessity for a budget build.... they were a donation for the build.... helps knowing the owner.

Once again being budget minded couldn't justify ordering $16 in seats for a $5 interior.... so back to the metal signs. A pair of seats cut and shaped. Not pretty.... but if your looking for pretty, this is not a build you should be following the #junkyardwraith is all about getting it done on the cheap!

I love budget builds, so much better than a "build" that's a stock rig with a bunch of expensive parts bolted on - keep it coming!

Good job man on the budget build, I'll have to steal a camera from one of the kids and shoot you a couple pics of my Frankensteiner Wraith as I call it, you'd appreciate it, Its about $160 worth of a cheap Pangolin crawler and some random parts home made and some old traxxas bits mated into a wraith cage, not fast but it sure crawls.
IMO you should find a tiny 5 gallon bucket to super glue upside down for a driver seat for that last junkyard touch.

Had a great suggestion other than plain paint for the seats. So I used some sheet foam to dress up the seats a bit.

This is just too cool. This thread is giving me ideas of my misc. parts laying around that I can put to good use instead of it sitting in a parts box. Good luck at the comp. and keep us posted on the outcome and performance of your rig.

The #cbercfab #junkyardwraith will be getting upgraded skins. Still sticking with less is more so trespassing signs will be the new skins. These ones will be turned shiny side out. Its gotta look good for the RC4WD scale challenge coming up.
