| Erin - My Ultra4 Build This build has been in the works since March. I wasn't going to 'leak' any pictures, but I just can't resist... Clay Carter (Carter Fab & Machine) is working to finish the chassis up this week. I cannot wait to get my hands on it!!!! It's based around a Proline Wraith Early Body Bronco Body. The hood is/was the last Cowl Induction Hood ever produced by Carter Fab & Machine, and we cut it up!!! She's not done yet, but she's dead sexy. HUGE props to Clay for his work on the chassis thus far. Last edited by TheScaleAddict; 12-09-2015 at 12:01 PM. |

Man, that looks sick. I need some time to myself to build 1. But between work and a 4 month old I don't even have the time to sleep.

| Re: Erin - My Ultra4 Build Thanks. I feel your pain. That's part of why Clay is building the chassis. Aside from my not owning a welder.... I don't have time to even think about building something to this level. Building The Scale Addict website (I have a new web site that I haven't launched yet, I am working on adding inventory) has my time meter pegged, along with my normal work load.

Be bending up some more chromoly today to get the chassis finished up tomorrow hopefully. Then a lot of aluminum sheet work will go in to close it up and give it that 1:1 look.

Thanks Brian. There is zero grinding and extremely minimal cleanup with a good machine setup properly. Plus really strong joints.

Another update. Shock towers and Stinger bumper. Here is the basic layout for the hood graphics that will be airbrushed on by Clay's brother. We'll also be building a light bar cage. The picture shows a 5" light bar, though it will be built for a 4" light bar. Also, we're going to have tabs on the light bar cage and on the grill guard to string winch cable between the two, similar to what one might see on an expeditionary Land Rover. The hope is that the cables will protect the hood and graphics in a roll over situation. Cable will be similar to this: |
