Default Newbie Wraith build

Less than two weeks into this hobby with my Poison Spyder RTR, I've decided to build myself a Wraith kit....After a $1500 shopping trip to the LHS, here's what I'm starting with;

Still in the planning/gathering stage but I have already talked to Michelle @ Krawler Konceptz who will be making me a custom skin and as soon as Harley's HD hardware shows up I'll start assembling.

This little hobby is addicting

4 words: Stay away from Integy. That's really all you need to know.

Spend a little extra on higher quality parts and never have to worry about it again. VP, Blue Monkey RC and other are great companies to deal with.

Congrats my friend!!! What ya gonna do with that big fat nasty radio? If you're not going to run 2 motors or dual steering, you're better off getting a much cheaper radio and using that money in the Vanquish upgrade realm. Vanquish, C-hubs, knuckles, steering links and wheels to make it look PRETTY!!!!

I would consider a Spectrum radio or another Axial radio - if you like the way it feels in your hand....I like my axial radios!

Im excited for you and a little jealous! Of all the kits I have built, I have yet to build a Wraith kit....yet!!! You're gonna LOVE building that thing!!!!!

You can find those steering links on strc site also. Like $13 or so if I remember correctly. Integy parts tend to fail under "normal" use. A lot of people have issues with them.

Re: " big nasty radio"

I also bought the 4PL for my other RTR Wraith (want to be able to run both at the same time, wifey/ friends) but figured the 4PK will support any future upgrades that fancy me... Two weeks in and I'm running a pretty much fully upgraded RTR PS Wraith, I'm in the middle of an SCX10 Rubi build which is another story (I sux at painting) and thinking of a rear steer car also...

A futaba 4pl is more than enough to run your rig and it's half the cost and the receivers are cheaper. I have a 4pl for my pro rig with dual esc and it does just fine. Also I didn't see any, but some ti links from blue monkey or vp would serve you well. Also do you have a Hotwire to program that tekin esc and a castle programmer to set your bec?

No need for the glitch buster if you're running a BEC.

You don't need that intagey junk. The kit has universals in it. Also take that 4pk back and get a 4pl. The 4pk is just overkill

I went in to buy a 4pl but was told that they are discontinued

I'll ask someone else there when I go tomorrow.

I think the new radio is the 4PLS....either way - that's still a TON of radio. Shoot! Think of all the VP parts you can buy with the extra money between the 4PLS and the 4PK...HEHEHE

I said it once already and I'll say it again, and again, and again - you're going to love building this and .....um....uhhh.....OH YEA.....IM JEALOUS!!! Again, Congrats, HOSS

He doesn't need telemetry. But yes, the 4pk is rediculas for a wraith. A 4pl will do anything you need

The 4PKS is an awesome radio. It's what I run in my Wraith and all my other r/c's. That being said I would take it back and order a 4pls. That way you have cross-compadability with your current receivers. 4pks receivers are twice what the 4pl receivers are.

I never said it wasn't awsome. It's overkill.
